And who said it needs to fit into 32K anyway? Phoenix could slap a 1mb or bigger flash chip on that board, and would certainly have enough space for TCP/IP functionality.
Never code by hand? I regularly do code complex websites using php and such by hand. Tried Dreamweaver but I couldn't stand it. Kind of a personal preference thing i think.
BitTorrent having balanced downloads is not true in my experience. I have a 1.5/128 cable line, and with Torrent (un-modified) I regularly can download at the 1.5 or very near it, but am only uploading at 128k.
Yes actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Ballmer came out and said "We are trying to crush Linux with any means possible". Or maybe he's already said something along those lines?
.kids domain? In case you didn't know, diseminating pornography to minors is already illegal and a pretty serious offense I believe. Provided you can find the spammer that is...
This provides for Microsoft the perfect solution, make themselves look good and make open-source less attractive. Those are the motives behind it, but the same is true of just about any company out there that does philantrophical things. They are all in it for the money in the end (tax credits, good press, market share, etc.)
Yeah I'd say the poster doesn't know many smart people. First time I ever installed Debian it went perfectly, no problems whatsoever. And learning how to use apt took maybe another 5 minutes at the most.
Certainly they are well within their rights to limit you from Xbox live if you mod your Xbox, but doing that is defintely not the same as claiming IP damage and prosecuting modders.
Well I hate to be cynical, but plenty of people die today on the roads with humans driving. A few more dying because of a software failure is bad but no worse than any other accident.
One could make the argument that by having a public e-mail, you are accepting emails from anyone, including a spammer. And I agree about not making laws about this. It really is not the governments place to say what people can and cannot send in email, regardless of how annoying spam is.
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the lame excuse talked about in the article. After all, saying we don't have it is a great excuse not to give the code to someone.
I think its funny that it took them 18 months to figure out they needed help. Obviously Cornett is not all that gifted in the computer realm, given 18 months I'm pretty sure I could come up with something better than installing an MS beta on all my servers.
Besides the fact that as far as I can tell Windows 2003 offers very few benefits over the finally acceptably stable Windows 2000.
No I don't have to admit the IE renderer is lovely. I think its a piece of shit that makes webmasters scream in agony just thinking about it. The only reason anything looks right on it is because people develop for that out of necessity instead of for standards.
Automatic? Surely you mean semi-automatic. An automatic "handgun" is generally larger, illegal without a special license, and considerably harder to aim while firing.
Not buying a Windows PC is harder? Let's apply your statement "this kind of behaviour is okay because if you don't like it you can just not buy a Mac". If you don't like PCs why not buy a Mac? There are alternatives out there to both MS and PCs. That is why I don't think MS is a monopoly. There always has been an alternative.

Hmm last time I looked my hypothetically pirated XP copy on my hypothetical laptop got SP1 just fine. XP hypothetical Key-gens are great ;)
*cough* Tribes 2 *cough*
Of course for servers Debian is still the way to go.
It definitely wouldn't surprise me at all.

Why exactly does it have to be measured annually, and why should I care if it detoritates? Anyone care to enlighten me?

In that case when technolgy goes away I guess I'm fucked. Oh well, better start stocking up on spare contacts or glasses now.

Not clothlike, it IS cloth. But still, many people wouldn't notice. Those are the ones you try to pass the bills to.
Shit happens afterall.

Interestingly enough, you don't own the music from Itunes or buying a CD in a store either.

No they don't mean HPCompaq notebook. The company's name is just HP.
How exactly is DRM related to "innovators and 'CuriousGeorges'"? Unless you consider pirating to be innovating.
