I always got that "Blackadder" feel about those characters (Waterhouses, Shafotes). They seems to be ever on hte sidelines, as far as the 'history' goes. Kinda like the narrative tool that C-3PO and R2-D2 are supposed to be. There at all the right moments.
I asked a 'steward' that question, and he said that it was a passenger saftey issue. You have to be able to hear instructions, presumably because the majority of air accidents are in the take-off and landing stages of the flight.
"Granted its just one week "...so why would this be worth a headline? 1 week seems like an awfully short time to start speculating "So, when will Dell begin carrying AMD?"
Managing to intergrate the narration into the gameplay (as seamlessly as possible) is a huge key to effective storytelling and immersion in games. A few of the good ones would be Half-Life and MOH:AA.

The website mentioned 'broadband', but there are very few technical details, besides talking about the phased array antennae. Cool nonetheless.
