I agree $1 for 5 minutes of Meddle would be quite fair. It better be original tape/cd/vinyl quality though, as it's an extremely pretty and intricate track:) Also in my opinion, Meddle is one
of the best road trip cd's ever (next to Obscured by Clouds) so I may as well just buy ANOTHER
CD copy (bought 3 or 4 so far due to entropy). The RIAA is screwed though, 99.5 % of cd's out there
cannot compete with Meddle:)
Also he didn't predict on blah blah date in blah blah year blah blah. He told the Federal Aviation Commision ( or some shit like that) that he is having dreams about a crash
where the plane goes upside down and crashes and yes it happened soon after.
It happens sometimes, the only question is is he right this time. Myself, I am very sceptical.
I don't see someone having a repeat of something like this especially when it
concerns a planetary body between the size of the earth and the moon and it predicts
a plague released by the government a month before. Just too full of shit. But
worth noting.:P I think he had a ESP/paranormal exxperiance in 1979, and now in 2004
he is just sick of being poor and trying to bank. Otherwise, cheers after we are all dead:)
Q
He predicted that the plane would be upside down (inverted). And he says he stayed home that day.
I for one, believe what he said about that crash. His last interview was in 1985 ( on 20/20 ).
Now whether now he is just bored with not having publicity since 1985 or just is in
a hellraising mood, I don't know. But the fact is he is going out of his way to get his
dream vision known to the world. He may be right, and he may be completely woefully wrong.
But it's worth keeping in mind, you may die this year:*:)?:) Just live life like
every moment is worthwild, and I don't know, this guy may be right, who cares.
No he predicted that the airplane would be upside down and crash and he had it in his
dreams, and he talked to the F** guy and they had a policy to respect stuff like that, and
now the director is retired but the fact is he had a lot of publicity in the early 80's,
ending in 1985 on 20/20. He may just be trying to garner some publicity, but hey his
basic premise may be right. If you read his prediction he also says that the government
will release some horrible plagues to reduce the human tragedy like a month before, and
that is the reason I myself am sceptical. But you don't know right:)
It's pretty amazing the way he got the crash in 1979 right and even if that was totally
legit, he is back and claiming this now. Well I for one am going to be prepared.
I will be having a normal day, just doing what is normal, but if we get wiped out I'll
be happy:)
Q
Was listening to coast to cast AM with Art Bell or George Nory the other night,
and they had a guy who predicted that a large spherical body would hit the earth
sometime around the middle of 2004 and wipe out life on the planet. He got
a plane crash right in 1979, and even discussed his dreams with the government
before the place crashed in Chicago. Hope he's wrong, but would be fun wouldn't it!:)

I installed KDE 3.2 last week, and while it's just a beta I give it two thumbs up easily.
The tabs in Konqueror are fixed to more like what I'm used to in Firebird, and theres
some nifty new features in the file browser mode. Not to mention there seems like a lot of
new configuration options and everything seems even more solid and snappier than 3.1.4.
The new theme, Plastik, has really grown on me as well.
I've been really tempted to get ahold of a MVS system lately, but the price of a supergun

Thanks for dictating what it means to be a KoF fan A.C.:) Hey, I haven't seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies, for fear that the visuals, characters, and dialogue will tarnish my mental image of what I read in the books, but does that make me any less of a Tolkien fan? To me,
it sounds like Mai is saying "ME SO BOUNCY" so...
Female characters tend to be smaller, faster, and more agile. This may be considered advantageous to some, a hindrance to others. Once again you're displaying your arrogant elitist ignorance.
You must harbor some remarkable inner self-hatred to jump on an innocent slashdot posting and
do nothing but blindly criticize:)
They make up for the lack of violence by enfusing the characters with more esoteric gimmicks...so instead of a team of killers, you have a team of really tough bisexual clones in vinyl pants.
Awesome observation, that pretty much sums up one of the main reasons I like this game..bizarre yet solid characters:)
Besides the self-censor you describe is oftentimes appropriate, in my opinion. Like sometimes the posing with a gun may seem a little over the top, and many American's may not get the joke. Mostly people who don't play video games and probably would never see it anyways, but like you said it's not really a big deal. Being able to read the funny win quotes beats a little sprite bouncy action, in my opinion. Unless they haven't realeased English versions, like on the Dreamcast.
I picked up a Logitech optical mouse from Wal-mart like a year ago, and before I had
actually tried it, I had many of the same reservations as you. However it took like 20 minutes
for me to fall in love with the scroll wheel/middle button. I find that I rest my index finger
on the scroll wheel, and my middle finger on the right button. I've never really paid too much attention to the pure size of the mouse however, if it got much bigger it would definitely start
being a little cumbursome. Now the wheel has these notches. I agree with you if it was easy for
the wheel to turn all of the time it would be annoying. However it has like these 18 degree notches in the mouse and unless you turn it beyond the notch it doesn't scroll at all. And to be honest with you, the scroll wheel just "feels" like a middle button to me, the click and pressure and everything involved in pushing it down just feels right on. And I know you don't think that
a scrollwheel on the mouse would be very convienient...and at first I definitely wondered why the heck you would want such a thing?? But hey it's soooo nice to be able to click anywhere on
a page or document and be able to scroll up and down without moving all the way over to the app scroll bar. I should add that if you have the keyboard stashed away, like to make room for a bowl of cereal when your checking the morning news sites or Slashdot, the scroll wheel is very very useful, especially with middle button set to open link in a new tab in the background in Konqueror or Mozilla. Also the only time that the scroll wheel depressed behaves like the stupid (turn into scroll mode, move mouse up and down to scroll browser) is in Mozilla, and I'm pretty sure that that's an option during compile time. Otherwise it behaves exactly like a middle mouse button in every other application and environment. I think I had to add a line to my XF86Config file, but
since then it just works awesome in practically every X app.
I guess I am giving this mouse a big couple thumbs up. It being optical I've never needed
a mouse pad and it's never needed cleaning, and the greatest thing....it's Extremely
inexpensive, like in the $10 range (or maybe less, it was like a year ago when I got mine.)
Nice troll:)
I don't know if it's neccessary to make it into a big
rivalry, Capcom and SNK both make EXCELLENT fighting games.
King of Fighters is a series that brings a new game every year with:
* TONS of fighters, the cast changes every year with some old faithfuls and some new
* new moves and old moves and removed moves, not the same moves on every character every game
* very good new artwork and music
* extremely deep gameplay and combos
* a well thought out storyline (except 98 and '02, which are more Dreammatches)
*an excellent sense of humor
* challenge, ESPECIALLY the bosses
Capcom has many of the same plusses but it varies of course, it's like comparing apples and oranges...both are good (unless you hate fruit).
I question your video game guru credentials if you consider this series overhyped with not much to offer.
It's always been my opinion that the first book of the trilogy is extremely tedious to get through, that the second book turns into a very good read, and that the third book is one of the single greatest books I've ever read, every time I read them.
You should really try to read the trilogy:) The first book is like wading through molasses and I don't know how I got through it the first time (aside from the encouragement of high school friends), but reading through the third book is extremely satisfying, for me. My reading skills are only average and it takes me a couple weeks to get through Fellowship, then like a week or week and a half for Two Towers. But oftentimes I find myself totally getting into the Return of the King, reading it at every opportunity until the very end:)
I at this point we are the complete opposite. I haven't seen the movies and I still really don't have any intention to....I am just scared that the movies will mangle my mental image of many of the book's characters, places, and events. Of course I've seen pictures from the movie and I may be completely wrong, but the omission of the scouring of the shire only reinforces that opinion for me.

The last time I heard about weird electical lightning formations was when they were throwing around ideas and someone had a suspiscious picture.
from space.com
While it's not likely Columbia was struck by lightning flying through clear skies some 40 miles high, it is possible that some kind of electrical event took place.
At least one image is reported to exist in which it appears something like lightning is striking, or discharging from, the shuttle as it approached the California coast.
I never heard anything else so apparantly they decided that the picture was fake or irrelevant, I guess. I wasn't able to find any more current info.
