Obviously this is just another attempt by Microsoft to undermine technological advances and remain in control of the desktop computer market.
You see, Linux has already made large inroads in the Itanium processor market, and Microsoft knows that if they attempt to compete they will surely lose; they came around much more slowly than Linux (as is usually the case nowadays LOL!).
Thus, people with Itanium processors will use Linux before Windows, realize they like Linux more, and continue to use it. As more people bought Itanium based computers, more people would use Linux. Microsoft's only option here was to kill the processor before it ever had a chance. And if you believe any of that, you're a fucking moron.
