And since we don't know the effects of everything on the planet there is no need to panic. Water, which extinguishes fire, is made of 2 gases that are both highly flameable (if not the most flammable). Who would have rationally figured that?
What about the quantities of Nitrous we breathe every day? Oh thats right, the air is 78% Azote (N). Is it damageable to our health?
Please continue to live as normal. We were made to stand some form of pollution, just like cockroaches were made to survive a nuclear holocaust. Hehe. And on the bright side, any aliens trying to invade earth will die from toxins!
Probably going to get insta-modded to Troll but IRAQ has much MUCH bigger problems than what kind of SOFTWARE they are going to use. Grow up! Humanity goes beyond the concept of Open/Closed Source.
Uploading, downloading, borrowing, distributing. All these are definable and open to interpretation. The philosophical repercussions are great but whether you like it or not, the bottom line decision will be because of a single character, a byte if you will.
'$'.
And that decision is : "Sue everyone, make cash, everyone's a pirate, screw personal rights".
In the long run, fair use and personal private copies and yadayadayada will not mean anything because of the said character.
That you have to have high sales to be worth of TV air. What about quality? I knew that Family Guy would be a worthy heir of the simpsons as soon as I saw the 1st episode. Whatever happened to giving someone a chance to prove himself? This is like the vicious circle Job needs Experience, Need Experience for Job.
There is absolutely no reason why all of these expansion packs aren't released immediately with the original game. Think Frozen Throne. This is a serious shortcoming in new games, and is also demonstrated in movies like Kill Bill. Stop chopping stuff and please give us everything all at once. But of course you can't do that, because of the almighty dollar.
If the story in this release is as uninspired as the story in NWN (Paladin becoming Blackguard, wow, that's a shocker, and it's not even told intelligently she just abandons her title in like what 3 seconds?), it's not even worth to pick-up. 50$ says hordes of the underdark tells the story of a Dark Elf who becomes good and goes to the surface. Wait, haven't i read this one already? In a trilogy?
Now now i dont use or like Linux but this is completely wack. Leave the poor free software developers alone. I hope there's a lot of evidence because if they don't there will be nothing left of SCO after the rabid dogs get to them.
Simple answer. The average user, your or my mom for example, needs something simple that she can use to do what she wants. Something uniform you see everywhere (you might laugh at the number of windows releases, but i laugh even more at the number + flavors of Linux releases). Bottom line, Windows is easier for people of non technical caliber, and being a monopoly just makes it even easier. Gas is also a monopoly, and if someone made a new kind of reservoir for gas with a square pistolet, no one would use it. Sometimes being different really is an inconvenience.
But the UN doesn't have the mandate to run internet, it has a mandate to protect world peace (snicker). And even there, there's MUCH MUCH more job to do accomplishing its first mandate, let alone a second one that you create on the spot. IMHO, the war in IRAQ showed how the UN is completely useless and powerless in 2003, and should be dismantled and thrown to the 4 winds.
Take that Moore's Law.
It might not improve but it's funny as hell
Best read i've had in ages here.
Anything in high doses is damageable.

Ah ah! Now that i hate my opponents heart, all of his powers now belong to ME!
Seriously, no evidence whatsoever.
Strained silicon? Sounds like used processors. Maybe strained silicon is only used to make Celerons.
Hey that sounds awefully cool... Copycat Games Studios.

Yes yes yes but can you play AO
I am a terminal and i object to being called dumb. Please refrain from such talk, or ill be forced to use SYSREQ on your ass.
Remember, don't be *the bottleneck*
Hahahah good one chief

They could have patched those in instead of releasing a full CD and selling it at ludicrous prices.

Because you're not a mainstream user? That was easy.
Well maybe it's because you are not the target demographic? Take it as a compliment, this means you're probably smarter than average.

"But there's nothing to say it will go away."
Make them sign a contract hahahaha
People use OSS because it's free, not because it's better. It might be better or not, but it's a non-issue. It all comes down to brass tacks $$$.
I will not advocate one over the other, just explain why MS doesn't like OSS. No $$$ in this (or much, much less if not 0).
How do you get rid of the side bar in Opera that takes 33% of the f*cking view space. Tabbed browsing isn't as swell as one would think.
They are 56k users who can close the popups right before they load with a quick [right click], [close].

You never get burned if you never approach the stove, right?
50$ says this app only works on nVidia cards. Oh come on it's just a joke.
