  1. I'll miss Buzz!!! on Google Buzz Buzzing Away · · Score: 1

I liked the way it integrated with GMail in a non-intrusive way. Just was another "folder" for me to click on at my leisure and post something quick if I wanted. I hope G+ takes up that spot in my "folders"

Have a good weekend everyone :)

  2. Yes, please (airport employee). on US House 'Creator' of TSA Wants To Kill It · · Score: 1

I'd suggest that privatizing (i.e. reverting back to the way things were pre-9/11) would be a step in the right direction. The TSA just oozes a feeling of wasteful spending.

Private security contract firms would be subjected to reviews by the check-writers more frequently and while it would still be a mandatory budgeted item it would be under that local scope so I would still imagine more fiscally responsible spending would be present.

  3. Market / App Store on HTC Considering Buying Own OS · · Score: 1

I bought the HTC Thunderbolt primarily for the OS and the market that comes with it. Apple and Google are the two dominant players because of their market/store not because of the OS alone. If HTC came up with a spectacular "killer-app" and gave WebOS exclusivity in some fashion than it might have a chance of people caring about it.

Google+ seems to me to be more likely to compete with or duplicate posts from Twitter than Facebook. Facebook just has so much garbage on it I don't understand why anyone would be encouraged to use that site. Either way, I like the competition - it has the potential to cull advertisement whoring.

Not having watched that particular video - perhaps it was either taken out of context or your standards are too high. To me, a good way to describe "perpendicular" is as an intersection of a vertical and horizontal line. People communicate and learn optimally in many different ways. On the topic of "polish" - they're free.

This is exactly where I can argue "skill" comes in to play... it's not skill *in-game* but rather skill as a gamer.

MANY of the quests that require drops off a particular type of monster... you'll find they range within 2-3 levels of each other... the same monster. Kill one level you get a 30% drop rate, kill the other 2 levels and you're looking at 10%.

This isn't typically considered "skill" but knowing this fact certain falls under some kind of anti-ignorant category of gaming.

TiVo is by far the best money I've ever spent on a "want". Anyone who disagrees probably didn't have a need for it in the first place. To be able to chill in front of my tv and bring up a simpsons episode or seinfeld episode and get a good laugh *commercial free* is a real luxury. TiVo supported the 3rd party network cards with a dialing prefix after their last major software upgrade... this shows that they care, or something to that effect. I like the device, and the company. It'd be a shame to see it get "replaced" by microsoft. Yay.
