Also, wasn't there an Apple spreadsheet program previously...
Yeah, I seem to remember this little known app called VisiCalc or something. It must have been a failure, because no one seems to even remember it here...
They did? Wow. I wouldn't think that was compatible with communism. But then again, pure communism is probably not possible to implement in the real world anyway...
I suspect the copies are 100% legal. By Cuban law. Is there any other that matters in this case? I somehow doubt Cuba has signed any international copyright agreements.
Nobody in Cuba should be able to run Windows Update.
What about foreigners who has actually paid for it?
After spending a couple of hours on UFO: Enemy Unknown tonight, I just had to reply to this. It is actually easier to play most DOS games now than when they were released. No need for boot disks, memory managers, hardware drivers etc. Just run DosBox on your OS of choice!
For example (on a UK Keyboard) the fact that {} are both shifted, means hell of a lot of extra keystrokes in some languages, as does the fact that @()": are all also shifted.
Consider yourself lucky. On a norwegian keyboard you have to use Alt-Gr to get {}@ ;:()">* are just shifted
Why the hell did the family need the password to his laptop? To snoop into his private life that he might have wished to remain private? I can't think of a legitimate reason except to go snooping.
For us living in countries where games (or movies) are not translated from english, this is how it has been for ages. Here in Norway almost all games are in english, and lots of small children play them. (Though I guess you could find a better english teacher for your ten year old than GTA)
Actually Norway is a part of Europe. We're not a proper part of the European Union, but in reality most of the EU's policies are implemented in Norway anyway.
All Norway has is lutefisk, which would probably tend to repel invaders.
That, and some oil. But, of course, nobody has ever invaded anybody over something as trivial as oil.
Natural stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.
Now that would be a totally different book...
(Though I've heard someone claim that Tolkien was implying that)
Well, even you don't seem to remember that it was not an Apple product. It was the killer application for Apple II, but it was produced by Visicorp.
To be honest, I knew that, but never let facts get in the way of a good joke!
Yeah, well... I'm gonna go build my own internet, with blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the internet!

for bringing my expectations back down again. The lower they get, the better!
Why is there suddenly sounds in space?!?
Suddenly????
Have you ever seen a sci-fi movie before?
Impressive! Posted almost at the top on Slashdot, and I still get 180kB/s.
How many people do you know still play DOS games?

Yeah, right. The great AI machine will be delivered in the same week as my flying car. Taking orders now, please form an orderly queue.
According to rumors it will be bundled with Duke Nukem Forever.
It's been on slashdot for several hours, yet still I'm able to download the trailer at 150KB/s!
$100 is extremely cheap for a laptop type computer
I did RTFA, but I couldn't find anything about it being a laptop.

Of course not, but that is a bit of work, not to mention pretty difficult for Average Joe...

Maybe they just wanted to use the laptop?
I speak for the entire slashdot crowd when I say...
GET A WHAT?

I agree. That is one of my favourites!
Bender also had the following framed on the wall in one episode:
10 HOME
20 SWEET
30 GOTO 10
Depends on how you define highest...
They were probably using the height of the pylons as a measure of bridge's height.
Kjære Gud! Hva har skjedd med vår båndbredde?
Actually, I think anything made by Microsoft is automatically NOT a hacking tool.
So I guess it should have said Mozilla instead.
