    Runs on less platforms?
    Doesn't run as many applications?

    Any OS requires learning. More to the point, the applications that run on the OS have to be learned. Just because you are familiar with the system doesn't mean everyone is. You can pretend that Macs are intuitive, easy to use, whatever. In reality, anyone with no computer knowledge or someone coming from another system will have to learn how do things on a Mac.

    There is no "right out of the box and use it without learning".

    Not only that, they call it practicing medicine for a reason. If it is anything more than a simple ailment, the patient is nothing more than a test subject. There is too much "Let's try this" going on. People have too much faith in science. We just don't know as much as we think we do.

    The fact that they spead faster is simply because of the increased number of computer users and their access to the internet.

    It is a good thing that nobody has release a modified MyDoom, Code Red, etc designed to do some serious damage. If they can set them to attack a server at a specific time, it shouldn't be a major task to do some major destruction at a specific time.

    I have been out of school for a long time. I think grammar and spelling nazis around here have really helped me try to write well. I pay close attention to what I write and how I write it. I still screw up, but there has been improvement.

    I don't care that he got a blowjob. I do care that he lied about it. It is a matter of credibility. He lied about that, what else did he lie about? What else was he willing to lie about?

    He shouldn't have been put in a position where he had to lie about it.

    I would prefer they figured out how much bandwidth they needed for their customer base, figure in growth, then honestly tell me how fast my connection will be and how much it will cost if I max it out 24/7. Then I can decide if it is worth the price.

    You can download a boot iso from Suse and do a network install, if you want to try it that bad. It is easy to do, I've done this a couple of times.

    The thing you gentoo users fail to understand is that installing and configuring gentoo is a pain in the ass. I'm not saying it is hard, it is just tedious if you are just looking for something to do day to day tasks. Not everyone cares to know every detail of their system.

    For years, everyone bitched about how hard it was to install Linux. Now that it is as easy as falling off a log, You guys are recommending a distro that ignores all that progress.
