So your saying that anyone that hasn't already been "convitced" of having monopolistic practices, can have monopolistic practices and not be thought the lesser? Let me guess, feeling rather blissful and ignorant today? Laws are written for all to abide by. I'll bet if MS put Google in the search box first we wouldn't be hearing about this. And big deal that they default to MSN, as long as you have the choice to switch is the point, not about who is the first in the list of choices. This is just crying and whining for the sake of crying and whining. Get over it.
Lets face it the mafia doesn't do it for penny profits. They are not supermarkets surviving on a 1 cent per sale profit. They want millions and they want them now.
Wrong. The mafia wants to steal what you won't notice that much. They only go after sure things. If I recall correctly the biggest heist in US history by the mob was of Lufstansa Airlines, for like $5 million in the early 80's. Everything else was usually skimming casinos, robbing shippers and reselling the goods on the street, protection rackets, gambling and prositution rings.
Like the other poster, you are not taking into account that the availability of the OS to crack. Most malware/spyware/virus writers are going most bang for the buck. Why write something that has a far smaller install base, its usless and not worth the effort, unless they are a true hacker that does it for the challenge and wants to learn. If there were an equal number of market share for OSX and Windows I bet you'd see a lot more viruses for OSX and a little fewer for Windows.
Oh and by the way opinions aren't right or wrong, they just are, and this is mine.
No, typical Master locks. Probably didn't happen much back then, but if you needed to search a students locker wouldn't it be easier to get out a master key than looking up the combination?
Well I did fail to mention that the locks were removed by the janitors shortly after. So they did get into their lockers just took a little time. If I recall was done on a friday night, so most students had their books at home to study over the weekend.
One of the best pranks that I ever heard of was one done by a bunch of my cousins friends in high school. Now, he graduated in the late 70's and the lockers all had external combination pad locks, by the time I got there 10 years later all the locks were mounted in the doors. What they managed to do was to steal the master key for all the locks(this part of the story left out as there is too much lore into how and where he lost the janitor), hideout in the school until everyone left for the night. Then the few hiding in the school opened up the doors for the rest of the group and then proceeded to take the locks off and switch them....not just one or two down, but from one locker bank in one part of the school to a locker bank on the other side of the school. Oh yeah, all done at the start of finals week in the spring. Good prank, and they spent the summer sorting out locks as punishment.
Build a wifi for a city that has been destroyed by a natural disaster and poor built levee system? I think there are more important systems that need to be taken care of before building a wifi network, like a well built levee system that can handle more than a Cat5(yes I know, over build if you can) hurricane, or move the entire city about 80 miles north so its not below sea level.
Getting 2 patches(well one patch and one hotfix) out as fast as they did is appreciated by most of the BF2 community. How long did it take them to patch BF:V? Something like 6 months. If I recall correctly.
I do agree with the fact that if you have an idiot SL or Commander you are going to get killed, over and over. But if you have compitent people running your army, no matter how aggresive the Rambos on the other side are, you will always win the map. Teamwork means strategy, and a good strat will almost always beat brute force.
All this talk about being able to filter email and whose system is better makes me laugh. Yes it would be nice if there was one "holy grail" system that everyone used and worked flawlessly. But since there is always more than one way to skin a cat, it would be nice so both systems worked well together. But I doubt that will happen since everyone claims their stuff is the best way, and totally incompatible with the others.
With this move though most of the apps are already written for the x86. All programmers of x86 stuff would just have to remove the GUI components and write new stuff for Cocoa. Not going to be as painful as the move from the 680x0 to PowerPC by far.
I thought the game was ok. Yeah a little linear and stuff. My biggest complaint was the ending. Was that just the biggest let down or what? I thought Dr.Freedman and Alyx where going to get some going....hell she was flirting with ya the entire game....
I work in the IT dept of a medium sized school district(roughly 6000 students). The one thing that I have discovered is that the teachers have a hard time keeping up with technology. I can understand their point of view thats basically, hold me hand and give me the quick answer on how to do it, I don't have time to actually learn the program and figure it out for myself. For computers to be used effectively in the classroom teachers need to be able to show the kids how to use it. If they don't know the answers to questions the kids are having how can they teach? Don't get me wrong there are some teachers that are pretty savvy users and are good at showing kids how to use the programs the way they were designed to, but then there are teachers that refuse to even try and learn something new, which IMHO is not good teaching.
Being that this is a site for an athelete I wouldn't suggest doing a bittorrent as that, for the lack of a better phrase, a bit to much techno-geek for most of the visitors. Something that would require minimal effort by the end users is required.
Well if the thing is monitored you can see it wake up. What you do then is put everyone on high-alert or something, then if the sucker blows its top and sends a 300ft wave across the atlantic then people can panic and get washed up the Appilation(sorry didn't fell like looking it up) Mountains. But for those that don't panic, be patient and make the 50 mile drive up the mountains to high ground. Or if you have relatives living in the midwest...give them a impromtu visit.
I can't remember the last /. article to recieve this many blow job jokes.
But will it produce 1.21 jigawatts of electricity?

Must have been using the drive for the webserver and the slashdot effect caused the acrylic to melt.

What about Sven? Ok it would be a bit part, but still needs to be there non the less. Same goes for the butler dude.

I wiggle my private parts at your aunties...now go away or I will taunt you a second time.
