Does anyone else find it weird that searching up 'google' comes up with nothing useful on Accoona? Given that Google is one of the most popular sites on the web and it's chief competitor, I find this very suspicious. Either the engine is completely useless or we're definitely seeing censorship at work. The Chinese would have to be idiots to think this is a "real" search engine.

Alternatively, if you search for Accoona on Google, it is the top hit with only the news story of Accoona.com launching above it. Yea, looks like a real winner here.

    How is this news?

FPS games have been making people sick for years. Ever since Doom exploded onto the scene, this has been an issue for some people. Of course, it's worse in some games than others - Descent is a perfect example - and I haven't heard about wide-scale problems in a huge release such as HL2 before.

This is a much more rampant problem. I noticed it too when playing and this has never been a problem for me before. I then come look and see EVERY forum has a thread about this. The problem seems to be the very low fov HL2 uses - 75. Most games use at least 85-90. This is of course changable inside the game.

I'm not sure you want to compare Halo 2 and HL2. I too was very skeptical of Valve since they have never made their own engine from scratch, and they really only have one solid game they've sold. However, HL2 has sold me. The game really is very good and most likely the best FPS of the year.

  7. Always question PR benchmarks on ATI Distributing Spurious HL2 Benchmarks · · Score: 1
The ATI PR benchmarks are crap, as should be expected of any benchmark in a PR release. The thing that sucks is ATI is distributing demos made by them for people to benchmark off as if they are good overall representations of gameplay which clearly isn't true. Also the fact that ATI was even able to make these demos ahead of time while others were denied seems wrong.

On a side note, the NVIDIA SLI PR benchmarks were actually fairly close to those done by Anandtech.

I understand the game is centered around partying. I'm not sure where the complaints are coming from as EQ2 always has been a party centered game and the developers have actively promoted it as such.

I am not that concerned with high level content atm because I am not a power gamer. By the time I actually reach that content it will most likely be all good, however I can see this as a complaint for power gamers. Of course if you are a power gamer it won't take you long at all to max out your level in WoW.

You complain about 50 quests per person. By this I assume you mean 50 open quests. I don't know what there the complaint about considering WoW allows less than half of that - 20. I think 50 open quests is MORE than adaquate.

My only real concern is the artisian part of the game. It still needs work but I do like one thing they are doing. Trying to macro/bot your skill up is going to be extremely hard due to the nature of it. That looks extremely promising.

When are beta testers going to understand that they are just that, beta testers. You think they invite a couple thousand beta testers because they all provide meaningful feedback? To a point of course, but the main job of a beta tester is to just play. The servers are purposefully packed to the point of capacity to stress them and work on the networking code. This also gives a good idea on the number servers needed when the game goes live. If you are going to complain about EQ2 not being ready complain about gameplay. BTW, I'm playing in the WoW beta and I constantly lag as well and see others chopping all around like crazy.
