Not true (in all cases anyway). I have a Dell L702x laptop which has a UEFI bios and it gets to the windows loading screen within a couple of seconds. When I first got it it was something which pleasantly surprised me so I still remember it. If they make UEFI more common on desktops I hope they add more options to it however because in the dell theres hardly anything there for the user to configure. I can't even set the num lock to boot off.

surprised yet glad to see Sony finally embracing new(er) technology for delivering music.

I remember reading an article on Wired about the civil war going on inside sony. The hardware side wants to build music devices giving consumers the features they want, while the entertainment (music/movies) side wants to restrict what consumers can do with their content.

quoting from the article, Keiji Kimura the vice VP at Sony headquarters in Japan, said this on the ipod "We do not have any plans for such a product," says Kimura, the smile fading. "But we are studying it."

I for one am excited about this product. More competition in the HD based protbles can only be good for consumers

I wouldnt get excited about ituntil I see it though. If the best apple and its close competitors can do is in the $500 range I can't see MS being able to do better with something just as good as the Ipod without making a huge loss on each unit.

they're either trying to pull another xbox or this is vapourware. The article also only says it wouldmatch ipods 'look and feel' so the third option is it doesnt match the ipod in size, features and storage space.
