  1. Just for personal gain. on 3D Printing: Have You Taken the Plunge Yet? Planning To? · · Score: 1

I've been wanted to get into it for creating terrain and weapons/armor/accessories for gaming. I don't have the skill to take it to the level of making money off it.

  2. Re:Smelling more fishy every day. on MtGox Finds 200,000 Bitcoins In Old Wallet · · Score: 5, Funny

All we need is for MtGox to "disappear" after a tragic fall off a sailboat...only to return with amnesia later on...and begin a romantic relationship with his nighbor who actually turns out to be his unknown sister.

  3. Re:Fuck that guy. on Jesse Jackson To Take On Silicon Valley's Lack of Diversity · · Score: 1

Exactly. Our developers and QA department is fairly multiracial, but those people are qualified to do the job. Jackson needs to focus his efforts at the local level with school boards, and city leaders.

  4. Re:Existing programs on The Poor Neglected Gifted Child · · Score: 2

When I was a child, my school district didn't have AP programs. Luckily, my daughter has access to them, but like you said, they are under-funded. It's doubly bad since we are in Texas. Our high school stadiums rival many small college's. It's a tremendous shame.

  6. Too late. on Wildstar To Launch On June 3 · · Score: 1

I played the beta, and I was not very impressed. If this had come out five or six years ago, I'd be much more excited about it. I played each class, and brought them out of the starting area, but I never really felt like there was any conflict, and it never really kept my attention. The game has some interesting mechanics, but I feel like they attempted to not "be WoW" to the extent that the enjoyment was watered down. Plus, there's the subscription. As it stands, after playing Guild Wars 2, I've seen how the F2P model can work. Sure, I can earn game time by playing, but I can't see myself really playing this enough.

  7. Re:Hmm.... on U.S. Aims To Give Up Control Over Internet Administration · · Score: 2

Unfortunately, I wouldn't trust those countries to not put filters indiscriminately on content. The US has many, many faults...as do all nations, but the internet has been successful because of the government's relative lack of regulation. Once it's under international oversight, things could easily get out of hand.

I agree. While I don't feel "compelled" to play it like I did with WoW (probably due to no subscription), I still find myself spending most of my evenings. It's never felt like a chore. I'm still a little surprised that Blizzard would make it so expensive. That's the full price of an expansion! I also don't buy their excuse for preserving player value. With full heirlooms, leveling is fairly trivial.

Dropping the A-10 in favor (I assume) of drones is completely asinine. It's proven technology that has lasted decades. I would take that over any of today's "cutting edge" jets. It's a damn shame.

Browser-based, like Card Hunter, would have made it great. I tried it in the beta, and it was okay, but it became a bit boring after a while. If it was something I could play on my phone, or play against friends, I would have enjoyed it more.
