    Skipping the background story, is there any way to reset the trial period (with slmgr -rearm) after the original trial ran out? Running the command isn't the problem, but it seems to either do nothing (with a regular account) or crash with an error when running as admin. TIA.

    That's why the bees are disappearing from private bee farms.

    I can't really say I like the overall design of that site, but at least the color scheme isn't the overused red, white, and blue! Full point for avoiding the cliche, although the bastards will probably "fix" this when we get closer to the elections.

    Well, 3Dnews.ru is a serious russian tech news, review, and analysis site which keeps a nice archive of ATI/NVIDIA (and other) drivers dating back to the Detonator age so there shouldn't be any problems downloading there. But I agree with you on the general principle (not the day of Linux on desktop part) that the things you're expected to install as admin should be digitally signed, and preferably come from the manufacturer's site.

    FYI, GTA:SA works just fine on my 4 year old PC. Of course, it depends on what 4+ actually stands for, but the game isn't very demanding. I've upgraded a little since then, but at that time I had a P4 2.6, 512MB of RAM, and 9600Pro.

    And the filesystem layout is cloned? So MS changed "Documents and Settings" to Users, and now it's cloned from Mac OS? Most Unix systems had a very similar layout (to Mac OS, not Vista), way before the Apple boys decided to drop their PoS OS and start over. Who's cloning now, bitch?

    What? Do you really think they're using some kind of database? I have some insider info, and I can, with absolute certainty, say that the data is stored in 19,837 excel spreadsheets, with one row for each citizen. Lookup is done with a batch file which guesses which spreadsheet has the needed citizen based on the serial number, and also estimates the line which contains it. Then the batch script uses edlin to display that line or redirect it to a sms-sending script, but I won't go into that.
