Nope, that's not what I'm saying at all. I only wanted to say that these didn't seem like very exciting features to me, even compared to other stuff in this new release.
From the way you say 'we' it looks like you're involved with the project, so... thanks, even if probably not I'm not going to use SeaMonkey for now. People, myself included, certainly appreciate your effort.
Ok, Q3 is a good game. I currently have it installed and play it from time to time, deathmatch is still one of the best to date. Still, I'm sure it's quite possible to camp. I recall complaints from tournaments about people hiding with the gauntlets, and some weapons ARE more powerful then others, do think your RL/plasma would be very useful in long distance combat against my railgun?* If I were a noob of course you (or an[y] experienced player) could easily kill me with a shotgun. But I'm not a noob:P... ok I wasn't planning to write so much about Q3, so I'll stop now.
The difference between Halo and HL? Shield system. Weapons. Level design. All this affects the way a game is played, as you yourself said. Another thing. How are all the FPSs except Q3 the same? Please point out in which ways are the Rainbow Six games, Brother in Arms, and UT(any), similar to HL/Halo? Bonus points if you can also do Prey, there's a video available.
*But but they have similar enough direct hit damage! The damage might be similar, but some weapons are more powerful (=more killing potential) than others, depending on situation.
Well they're certainly optimistic, Prey and STALKER? I'm not saying that's not gonna happen, unlike DNF:)
SWAT's already gone gold though, so some of them are almost here, and I'm looking forward to some of the others. The Ghost Recon sequel, HL2-AM, Quake Wars, Commandos Strike Force, the next UT can all kick ass.
Since I just ran out of mod points, I'll post instead.
Delphi's based on Turbo Pascal so should be easy enough to learn quickly, GUI design also extremley simple point-and-drool. IIRC, it also comes with sources for the default component library. I'm not sure if you realy need that, but in any case that's a plus. There are also tons of additional componens which might be just right for your job, often free as in beer or speech. Have a look at Torry's Delphi pages, lots of stuff there, including components and tools.
>... and then I'm going to have to pay to keep other people from screwing it up, when I can get FREE virus protection on my current XP box?
You're not getting any anti-virus software in Vista from MS. You didn't get any anti-virus software from MS in XP. So, what's the difference? If you're using free Avast (or whatever) AV for XP, you can use it with Vista (after an update probably).
Didn't Denis Leary have something to say?

I was thinking about writing game (and maybe other) reviews for my newly created site, and one of my ideas was to either ditch the score system completely, or make it very simple, almost binary. Assigning 0/1 didn't seem fair though, why should a game which barely redeems itself get the same score as a GOTY-class title? Right now I think giving out average/recommended/highly recommended/second coming of Christ ratings would give a clear idea of what my feelings were, without getting into the whole "give this game.5 more because i say so!" thing.
Now another thing is the length of the reviews. Short but to the point? Lengthy but deep? I'm-Neal-Stephenson-length essays with interesting, but not completely relevant bits thrown in? I'm not sure, but that's ok because I'm not writing the reviews right now. In fact, I should be studying for the two finals I have tomorrow and the day after that. I'll probably start with writing shorter reviews for the games I've played a while ago, expanding them when (if) I replay them. For newer games I could probably write longer stuff while all the experience is fresh in my memory. What do you guys think?
WTF is wrong with you people? It's Apple we're talking about here! This is version 1.0, these differences in interpretation of the "standard"* are just some bugs, caused by single person who had a bad day! Nothing to see here, please move along.
