Sure... my mother had my sister at 21 (married at 18), and my sister had a kid just before 19. Mom was NOT happy about being a grandmother before age 40 though:)
the zeroth law wasn't invented until at least several hundred years after the movie:) I forget when, but R.Daneel describes them like 20,000 years in the future.
In case you didn't know... round about book 5 of the foundation series, the robots stories merge with foundation... R.Daneel plays a big part. you should check it out.
Yeah, CNN was running pics of couples (in wedding attire, mind you) being told that they couldn't get married. Yes, Mr Bush... that middle aged couple of women will surely destroy the nation... friggin' fascist.
More or less true. But there wasn't a large and militarily dominant neighbor to protect it. Plus, we have lots of carriers (soverign US territory) to attack from.
I was (earlier) referring to someone other than the US attacking Canada. If we attack, the canucks are fucked.
I wasn't talking about moving the oil, I was referring to taking it from Canada forcibly. You'd have to cross the continental US, Alaska, the polar ice cap, or north east canada. None of which are feasible, really.
I knew about the oil, but it hardly seems viable to invade for it... except for the U.S., which is very unlikely. Everyone else has a whole lotta tundra between them and canada.
Seriously... who is Canada going to defend against? Russia was once a threat, but not very much anymore. Are there massive funds devoted to defending against the US?
Of course, a metric shitload of cash is spent on CA/US co-ventures like radar stations and early warning NORAD stuff...
Nah, I saw the news... sig was written a few weeks back.
Actually, this is expected, and the right thing to do. The state law was ambiguous (or at least, self contradictory), and the courts have said "hold on until we figure this out". I'm kinda surprised it took this long.
That said, I hope that in the end the state chooses to respect gay folks' rights. And that mayor STILL did the right thing.

Place I used to work, they wouldn't let you bring in a laptop for obvious security reasons... but my USB2 HDD full of music was just fine... "so long as it's not a laptop"
Company X produces some hardware. if/when there is enough market for support in a minority OS like linux, they may do so. And they get our (linux fans) business. If they don't, they dont. It's an economic decision, no more or less.
Just because they don't subscribe to a given philosophy doesn't make their product bad.
I agree with ya man, but don't hold your breath. People will have their opinions, and some will just be obnoxious to get attention. You'll get assholes in every forum. Just ignore them.
That said, there are some real gems of wisdom and humor that come from mr AC... some folks aren't trolling, but just like the anonymity. To each their own.
I loved Syndicate... but MAN was that game harsh... when I got a mission to snipe a guy's wife (he was the mayor, I think) to teach him a lesson about loyalty, it kinda freaked me out.
For what it's worth, I remember seeing (maybe in a trailer, maybe in a preview on TTT extended version) an incredible looking shot of the Witch King (on fell beast) slamming to the ground in the broken gateway, with only a mounted figure in white standing in it's way... bitchin' shot, I'm sure it'll be in the extended edition.

Yeah, but the 300 days a year of beautiful weather are a stronger hint! :)
interesting rant AC... next tell us why using "the" is somehow nerdy...
To be fair, luna is also the closest moon to the sun by a hundred million miles...

Agreed, sir.

The whole "evil" schtick is a bunch of crap.

Those of us who consider an informed opinion of more worth than a random flame, I'd wager.
Hardly efficient... the machine clearly used more radiation than necessary.
the 10 % was the calculation, not the $45. Lots of big OEMs get winders for $40-$60.
You're not getting the OEM price.

Some of us have to use headphones, as our music of choice violates obsenity laws and may damage small buildings...
