    And don't forget the price of the games.

    Here in the UK PC games are a standard £30/35 Sterling and have been for years. A lot of console games that I see in the stores are up to and above 50% more expensive.

    The area of North West England listed there includes two major cities with a combined population of 3.5 million alone. And how many cards have they issued in this area up until the 3rd of March this year?

    Four thousand three hundred and seven. Yes we Brits are banging down the doors to get our ID cards.

    I'm only on my first run-through, sneaking and head-shots has been my main strategy up until now.

    I was having a real good time then discovered the joys of super mutant overlords, albino rad scorpions and the real pain that is feral ghoul reavers. Currently getting a pasting in vault 87.

    The only unofficial patch I used is this one that disables the loading of "Games for windows live".

    My only other advice is get or make yourself a dart gun asap, it's a must for taking down Deathclaws. Dart to the leg cripples them then a couple of combat shotgun blasts to the head. :)

    Oh yes, bottle-cap mines are useful for softening up the heavy hitters.

    Install the game directly using "setup.exe" not the launcher, then make a shortcut for "fallout3.exe" again not the shortcut for the launcher that the install makes. No dvd needed in the drive.

    Works for me.

    Trouble was when I used to buy vinyl, 1969 till Cd's arrived in the mid eighties the quality of popular music pressings was definitely hit and miss. Low grade vinyl, warps and pits, if you had a good quality turntable and cartridge you could here those flaws if they were bad enough.

    The sad thing is that the CD has a much better dynamic range than vinyl, 90dB compared to vinyl's 50/60dB.

    I always thought the money was in shifting lots of cheap low/mid cards, not a few expensive high end cards.

    Worked a treat, though widescreen v2.1 is linked there it worked fine with v2.2.
    I had to used the nVidia fixer near the end as I have an 8800GT.

    And for Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura I use drog black tooths unofficial patch, high resolution patch and high res town maps. iirc you have to install the official 1.0.7.4 patch before these two.
