  1. Satellite Service now comes with free DVR's... on Cable TV Versus Satellite TV? · · Score: 0

Saw the add in the paper about 2 weeks ago. You get a free 3 room installation, 2 of which are DVR units so you can pause and replay. Didnt catch the fine print so don't know how good it is. :)

We'll all be spared of Finding Nemo 2.. 3.. 4.. and 5?... or will it follow all the other disney movies.. like Lion King, Aladdin... Though, guess its still better than the "Land Before Time" 1-10 series...

Really hurts coming from an anonymous coward.. wow. "Since I didn't install much aside from a typical utility set and a windowing system, yes." That's still more than "linux" as linux is only the kernel. And this is what your really missing here.

No, not actually. When microsoft gives any "software" and applies a dollar value to it for their total investment I call it a load of shit. It costs them a fews cents per cd to copy off all that crap they donated, then say.. Oh, this 1$ pile of cd's is worth 180$ per cd.. and this one.. ooh, 600$ per cd. When it didnt cost anything at all near that to donate it.

What're you missing? Lets see. First of all the fact that you've tried 1 distro and think that its "Linux" causing the problem and not maybe all the bloated crap you installed with the distro? Perhaps the fact that you can compile from scratch every single part of the os you'd ever use if you really wanted a speed improvement? Maybe the fact that imbedded devices dont normally run KDE, Gnome, or the X-Windowing system just to show someone a heartbeat monitor! Only thing your really missing is a brain. Why don't you go find one now.

Weapons of Mass destruction? Nada... Step up the warining level every few months? Sure? Biological Attacks warranting duct tape and plastic sales? Nope... Recent bombings and terrorist attacks other than our own government? Still nothing.. With headlines like these, does it really matter if the newsanchors arent where they say they are? Not like anyone was expecting this "honesty" from them to begin with...

Mac's arent being afflicted with pop up windows curtesy of a never used Messenger service...

I also don't see macs trying to integrate the bios into the operating system! Or being taken over and hosting porn sites!...

If your spending 699 for a 1.7ghz celeron you need to have your head examined. Unless its a dell. That should be about their normal amount of overcharging people.

Well, if some more people actually bother to get up the guts to fight this, it's really possible they could win, partially. If you browse through FindLaw.com on their fourth amendment rights and case examples, it seems, really, the RIAA is in serious breach of everyone's rights. From past case example, on probably cause searches, they are really only allowed to check an IP for illegal matterials if the person comes right out and shows them what they have! Its easy to come to this conclusion, Take a peak at the footnotes and cases on non-telephonic survellience. Passivle watching, or listening, if perfectly allowable, as it allows really stupid people to get caught doing bad things. But the moment you take action to be in a listening position, you violate someone's rights... Wouldnt trying to download a file, without being able to prove they dont legally own the file and have it on display by accident, be the same as drilling a hole in someone's wall and popping in a microphone?
