I used to run an active, unlimited TOR exit node on my office PC during non-work hours, that is until for some unknown reason our office had our Skype account blocked - I called Skype, my network provider, everyone trying to figure why we couldn't access Skype at all from any of the computers on our office network (we have a fixed IP which could have added to the problem). I read some threads on the Skype forums that this has happened to several people - apparently once Microsoft integrated Skype over the last year, anyone running an Exit Node was blacklisted. Note that we got any kind of notification, just a banned IP, they would not even confirm we were banned. I shut down my Exit Node and about 2 weeks later Skype returned. Not exactly what I call a positive treatment for a so called "good application."

This is a real sham - Plasma TVs, and Panasonic ones specifically (the ST60 model lineup) are consistently the highest rated TVs out there. CNET has several article devoted to why should only buy plasma tvs and not LCD. The main reasons? Significantly better colors, no motion blur, wider view angles. I have a Panasonic TC-P60ST60 and it looks amazing. The real reason that LCD sell better? They do look better in bright rooms, though not by much. What room is the brightest of them all? Bestbuy show floors so that is where the comparison is made, not your living room.

I only mention this because I wonder if the people that voted for Libertarian actually know what that means. I have been a Libertarian for quite some time now and if you ask me I wonder why we actually need a bill like this. It seems to me that politicians should have better things to do with there time than to clarify cellular phone bills. I say if you have a problem with your bill call you cell phone company and complain. If you don't want a contract, don't get one - its possible with some carriers and keep politicians out of regulating consumer-business practices just because people find them annoying and let the market work itself out.

I agree with you, about that many cops are trustworthy. That may seam like a high level of trust but lets take a closer look at that "but not all of them" and what a 99.9% confidence means in real life. According to the US Dept. of Labor, there were an est. 600,000 police officers in 2003, out there to patrol and serve and protect

but when you do the math on that it that means that there are a grand total of 6,000 untrustworthy cops potentially getting access to all of your personal information. Thats kinda scary!

Now i understand that not all 600,000 of them will be giving blackberries or be stationed at the airport, but still something to ponder.

how did you "forget" to quote the part where it says legal?

This is entirely true, just because you put it in writing and I agree to your conditions on some level does not mean it is always legal. Case in point they cannot say "well you signed up once so now we can bill you forever"

this practice is very common with those signs that say "we are not respondsible for stolen articles" next to the coat rack. This is not true at all. You cannot just declare that and that means it's okay.

My advise (no very original but...) just contest your charge on the bill BEFORE paying hopefully. Microsoft will have to produce something that proves you agreed to this transaction because otherwise the credit card company must pay for it. and they really do not like parting with their money.
