At least he's trying, y'know? Black & White, for all that it didn't quite manage to live up to what it might have been, certainly wasn't just a cookie-cutter game like a lot of stuff around.
Better to aim high and fall short, than aim low and always hit the target, if nothing else there's now the higher target for other people to try for. But then I liked Black & White a lot, for all it had wrong with it, it was a lot of fun.

To some extent, this is an entirely sensible idea - take something somebody else has done, then do it better (or market it better if you're MS). Innovation is a good strategy, taking something proven, and doing it again but better is also a good strategy, and historically a more secure strategy. Just not an exciting one.
Ok, I know that was meant to be funny. But its wrong on.. so many counts.
All the 'Jersey' films feature Jay & Bob, however only in Dogma and J&SBSB are they lead characters - the movies aren't about Jay & Bob except in the sense that Star Wars is actually about the droids.
Clerks 2 is about Dante & Randal, Jay & Bob just happen to be in it.
Not only that, but Kevin says that not all the films actually occur on the same plane of reality (Mall Rats for example).
The films are all set in broadly the same place, and often have characters from the other films, but none of them are sequels.
He's on the low budget bit of his cycle again, he makes a low budget hit (Clerks), then a huge budget flop (Mallrats), then gets busted down to a low budget again (Amy), so on ad infinitum. So he's back to doing this one on about $500,000 (he says), after mistakenly casting J-lo and Affleck.
And I thought it was Clerks 2: Hardly Clerkin'?
I feel a bit sorry for him really - he will never escape Jay & Bob. Just look what happens when he tries (and after he swore to never make another one in the Jersey series..)
"An existing video game system is modified to include additional communication and storage capability via a modem and hard disk drive.
A user may also watch TV while simultaneously logging onto the Internet. A hard drive permits downloading from the Internet of entire games."
I know, I read the article yesterday. Mind you, I'm by no means clear on what the conditions on prior art etc. are in the USA, but it wouldn't seem instantly reasonable to grant extension on a patent, when the preposed extension is already in existence - that patent covers a "modem", and a "hard drive", but doesn't discuss the applications of it used in Xbox Live, or covered in the newer patent, at least that I can see.
Nope. The patent specifically applies to home consoles, not to anything else.
Even as a Nintendo fanboy, I'd call this questionable given Xbox Live, and whatever it is Sony have, but you can't pull them up on trying to patent telephones.
Apart from anything else, Google has, as I understand it, been making money for a while now. And hey, they've been quasi-accountable to their 'angel investors' for a while too.
Not to mention, that the 'Google Guys', and the board, still retain absolute control over the company. At no time since they got big, has Google not been out there to make money. They aren't evil, but they aren't a charity either.. So it seems a bit premature to go all chicken little and run around crying 'Google is turning into Yahoo!'.
Ahhh. Like so many other things, alcohol doesn't actually make you think they're hot.. It just makes you not care anymore. Much like say.. falling down the stairs: "Argh! I've broken my back! Ah well. Back to the bar."
*Ability to talk to people at any time. If my friend isn't at the bar, I can't talk to him. The chance he's near his computer is much higher
Personally, most of my friend are more likely to be at the bar.... Which is what happens when you use AA for social networking.
I saw a documentary which talked about this, on the BBC, several years ago - it was on that lake under the ice that's been cut off from the rest of the world for a few million years.
They were talking about sending a probe to melt down to it - and also made reference to the fact that this would be a perfect test run for a similar mission to Europa.
Intruiging that they actually got the idea to (maybe) fly (sink?), however.
It is a risk, true.
You'd want some sort of sanity filter.. Teach the avatar not to stark jerking off in your mum's IM window...
BAD Avatar! Stop that!
Wake me when the avatar responds based on your facial expressions and body language.
Not a bad idea, given the missing aspects from text/emoticon communication, but too half-way house.
See, the trouble with that.. is I have no idea if you actually mean it..

Don't be insulting my glasses now.. These glasses cost me a while thirty pounds.

3M for example, do this all the time.
"Who needs the opposite sex, I've got you Jessy!"
Spirited Away has nothing on Team Rocket.
More importantly, he was bad news in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, don't tell me that won't affect his PA rating in these times.
Kevin says some of it will, some of it won't. Badaboom.

But, as they say - IANAL.

Like the other guy said - I'll develop specifically for postgre, when everybody has it instead of MySQL.
On the other hand, we could all use PEAR. Which will happen when everybody has PEAR.
Well, at least you can still buy it in SNES RPGs.
Dream on, BT is a private company now (Tah Conservative government).
And even when they where funded by our taxes, they still wouldn't give us a decent service. Granted, it was better, but still not any good.
We slam our leaders here too, now we can spend our time equitably trading insults about the respective men behind the curtains in the USA and the EU.
A great day for democracy!
So.. Like the passively cooled Hush systems?
I fail to see how we can utilise your arse for secure data storage.
