I wouldn't necessarily call online voters lunatics. For example, Ron Paul supporters are some of the most well informed voters out there, and they are exactly the people who would make use of this. Quite frankly, I would call any voter who didn't vote for Ron Paul a complete idiot as they clearly don't understand how bad their country is doing, and whats driving the problems.
As far as the parliamentary system, I doubt every seat will be represented in this fashion, just some, or maybe none.
I think its a great way to lend support to issues that politicians are to cowardly to oppose such as the the war on drugs, censorship, wars with other countries, and expanding defense/security issues, loss of sovereignty to the UN.
I do agree though that certain issues shouldn't be represented in this way as it would get carried away.
Is the best candidate for the U.S. Nerds... well he's popular on the net. BTW the entire world should be supporting this guy as well.

Is build renewable energy infrastructure. With 50+ billion, you could put a huge dent on fossil fuel burning, help curb global warming, and even make some money. Yeah I think aids and the rest is bad, but there won't be any aids to treat around equitorial regions if nobody is living there anymore! 50+ billion builds a lot of solar/nuclear/wind/tidal power.
At UofT we have a software engineering course. We do a project based on a real world theme starting from requirements on through to design and implementation. We learn a lot about project management along the way as well. The course code is CSC408 for any interested in using Google. We even get to (collectively as a class) choose which language we want to use for implementation. We don't necessarily use CVS, but it is taught in earlier courses.
or people that watch Friends
or people that listen to top 40 music
or people who watch the OC
or people who read People Magazine
or George Bush
or people that don't vote
or people that watch American Idol
or people that believe in Creationism
or people that follow celebrities closely
or etc...
Sometimes I'm not sure what IBM is thinking. I don't "get" this campaign. IBM is spending $300M on a campaign to convince customers to switch from MS' propietary to their propietary message product? Wow!
Well duh. Who would've thought that a corporation would spend money to get people to use their product. And no, they probably aren't any more trustworthy. They are after all a large multinational trying to increase profits.
Still a disgrace. Nasa is a joke, the Russians could do so much better. The Russian budget is miniscule compared to Nasa's and they are the only people getting things done in the name of manned space flight.
More like ignorance and corruption, not necessarily 'politics'. The whole reason progressive legislation affecting big business (in this case tax firms) isn't passed is because of corporate lobbies. This isn't really a Democrat or Republican issue. You could make a case against the Republicans because their constituency is primarily big business, but I think selling out to remain in power is more corruption then anything else.
You have to also remember that these politicians have little to no technological knowledge (take the president), so some large company that has been around for a long time will have more sway then a select few technical voices with no lobbying power.
I think it's safe to say that the NSA, with it's largest budget out of any intelligence agency in the U.S, has probably cracked the 100 TF mark ? It's a shame we will never no what kind of muscle they can flex.
If people want to listen to music, the will want something smaller, if they want to watch video, they will want something bigger. I personally don't think that combining a portable audio/video player is a good idea or will sell well.
Wing Commander Privateer. You could buy ships, weapons, join guilds, fly to other planets, it had it all! I wish games these days would start with the basics first instead of trying to add convaluded awkward features.
yeah but what you're talking about is fiscal sensibility. I don't think that the United States government (Congress, Senate, Whatever) in all of it's infinite wisdom is prepared to partake in such a common sense approach.
Maybe for an ultra paranoid administrator it should, but email is used by regular everyday people who send photos, videos, files etc... and probably don't give two shits of a damn about bullet proof security. I can see your point, but I think the solution to that would be a completely separate software package designed scrictly for primitive communications (Not something the public is interested in).
Books are typically associated with intelligent people. You shouldn't have worry about Republicans getting involved, they might have to read them first !
none other than IBM I would presume. Sun and SGI are dead so I don't see unix jumping ahead in the near future. Apple doesn't come off as a server company. BSD isn't as widely supported (I don't think) as Linux, and certainly doesn't have the momentum. Continue to see Linux Rise !

fiscal extravagence always boast's well with Congress.

Given another 50 or so years with advancement in nanotech, I don't think it would be so far fetched.

Resistance is futile.

That thinks Dr. Flake is a really goofy name ?
a lot. Maybe I should whore myself on Thinkgeek... Then again maybe not.

The Apple, tastes much better and helps prevent viruses.
/R[^e]*e[^g]*g[^e]*e[^x]x[^ ] [^c]*c[^o]*/ etc....
Would probably do it...
I think this may help people with parkinsons although they do shake quite violently (in many cases).
