I'm currently studying political science and public opinion, and 7% strikes me as very impressive. I'd be even more suprised if 7% of representatives that have a say in the issue understand it any better than the way it was outlined in the report. That being said, I am more than a little troubled.
It will almost certainly draw attention from players of http://www.eve-online.com/. From the reading I've done, PVP is going to be holodeck-only (thinkg Battlegrounds), and players will not be able to play as any faction other than the Federation. WoW (and EVE to a lesser extent) has done well in major part because of the tensions between alliance and horde players, and their ability to fight when they run into each other, without the need to queue up or to flag.
I try to be conservative, but not closed minded, in my accepting of new ideas. Concerning a concept as heavy as gravity, I think that scientists are just throwing us around, and i'm not falling for it.
He was rated at 60 trillion operations per second until Ep. #134, at which point something was done with bidirectional sequencing and his main interlink sequencer was converted to asynchronous operation. The size of his positronic links were no longer a bottleneck, and he was able to compute at a new and improved, but unspecified, speed.
Civilization is not a Real Time Strategy game, it is a 4X (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit and eXterminate) Turn Based Strategy game. Turn Based games like Civ do tend to have a lot more micro-management than RTS titles, but either does require quite a bit of mouse work. That said, is there any viable alternative?
I'm a long time SG-1 fan, but I've had my fingres crossed that they'd end the show for the past few seasons now, ever since Don Davis (General Hammond) left and they started up atlantis. Recent episodes haven't been up to par, and have weakened the canon of the series overall. We all love Firefly, as it was short and sweet. Six or seven seasons of SG-1 were gold, but it is time to hang up the hat.
In beta Ts were allowed to move the hostages, but it really screwed with the gameplay (not that hostage rescue maps are used competatively). The CTs being able to move the bomb would be a -huge- gameplay change, especially in matches. Round times would have to be changed, play would slow down.
It was a couple of years ago, when I was still in high school, my science teacher was friends with him. He took questions from the class; the most insightful thing that I garnered from the whole experience was that the million dollars isn't attainable. Don't take this the wrong way, i'm not saying that telepathy or anything else definately doesn't exist. The only way to claim the million dollars is to find something that cannot be explained rationally, and explain it rationally. If said 'thing' is explained, it is no longer eligible. He might as well offer a billion dollars.
30" screens will also make Apple a lot more money. Funny how that works out.
Quantity has a quality all its own.
I sense a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of students suddenly cried out in terror and then were suddenly silenced...
How did they handle heisenberg compensation?
It's the first robot that hangs out with a bunch of musicians.
The countries with the largest militaries have also tended to have the best rocket scientists.
How can anyone have an opinion on something if they don't know what it is?
I don't know, but i'm all for it.

My current cooling system blows by comparison!

Half-Life 2 Episode 2 is set to ship with Team Fortress 2. The vaporware curse lives on!

If the station "has not come close to its stated goal of becoming a world-class research outpost," then what is in said world-class?

Less than 100.00! I've waited at least the past 8 for something like this!
It's also the anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing. I guess we'll see a /. post on this sometime next week.
It is odd that the big car companies aren't more on this track! Yeah I was wondering why they wouldn't be... oh yeah, $80,000.

You're thinking that nobody will ever win that $1 million. I think I might be on to something...
When did Diakatana come out? Seriously though, System Shock 2 and Undying may be a bit dated now, but they certainly were unnverving.
I'm Ron Burgandy?
