    Although Microsoft has not been openly hostile. They distribute OpenGL with Windows. And although there are concerns that they are "crippling" the implementation they are shipping with Vista (of which I, personally, am skeptical), hardware vendors ATI and nVidia will be shipping the latest versions with their cards.

    I wish ATI would get off their butts and fix their pathetic drivers for Linux. They are so far behind nVidia it is embarrassing.

    Yes! It was a battery failure that caused the explosion in Japan. Dell calls this a thermal incident but I call it cutting corners in battery safety to maximize margins. If there is a recall on batteries then WE KNOW Dell tried to skim a few cents buy sourcing cheaper batteries.

    One of the failure modes of a Li-Ion battery is what the industry calls "vent with flame", or what everyone else calls, a fire. (A very spectacular one, at that - not just ignition, but the fire actually shoots out like a jet).

    Dell calls this a thermal incident.

    Speaking of DOS games, would you happen to know if Build Engine games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood and so forth work under FreeDOS?

    or.. their personalities could brighten up a dull, unproductive workplace. imagine a setting where no one knows how to socialize with others at work, whether for casual conversation or for collaboration. a lively personality may help the situation. of course, both of our ideas are possibilities and not concrete facts. so it's a toss-up either way, which i believe is what the GP was getting at.

    No, the nastiest (and funniest criticism) was this;
    Beta 2 is a good looking operating system with a number of new features, which will be familiar to you if you've played with recent versions of Apple's OS X.

    This was done twice in the article. Why are they copying so many OSX features? One might come to the conclusion that OSX is actually good.

    You do know that ECMA standardises everything they get paid for to do? It is how they make a living. It is not a proper standardization organisation.
    Maybe so but they won't take money to create a conflict. ie. IBM pays more than MS to design .NET 3.0.
