Yeah, I still use Winamp (2.91) (I think 2.8 or a slightly earlier version was prone to buffer overflow attack or somesuch). As for Winamp 3, the newest version is okay, though they seem to be updating the 2.x series more often. I'd suggest at least checking back by the end of the year to see what has happened. If it hasn't revived itself by then, then chances are it isn't going to be around for long.
Haven't you heard? Honeypots might become illegal. I guess when they ask you where you got the information from, you'll have to go with the old "It came on a disk that fell off the back of a truck" bit.
Wee... Sorry, but my Java is disabled. Anyway, you can always use Mozilla, even if you're locked into Windows. Unless you're talking about a work computer or something.
Aw, don't feel so bad. And if that counter only counts the people who visit your main page, you're doing a lot better than I am. If not, then I may be beating you... Er, well, nice knowing you!
>Does anyone know why there actually still is a need for slots? I imagine there would be a lot of advantages with using cables instead of slots and cards.
Have you ever heard about round IDE cables? They make them since they take up "less" room and provide better airflow. Now, imagine 40 wires (IDE is 40) coming off the motherboard for each item. That's a lot of wire (Not sure how many PCI-X has, though). Then there's the problem of where you attach the cables to. If you were to have a sound card, where would you put it? Would you have it connected to an externel box? If you really want that, go for a computer with one or no PCI(x/etc) slots and 6 USB ports. That's what you are asking for. The whole point of expansion cards is to provide addons for your computer, and using the slot/card method keeps it quite a bit neater.
>I would be very upset if somebody tried to nuke my computer.
Well, assuming it's done remotely, and you're a good sysadmin, you'd have the ports they'd use to blow up your computers blocked anyway? Even if it's hardware, it still has to update via the internet to get information about new copyrighted works, correct? In that case, port blocking or redirecting it would still work. And you call yourself a system administrator.:P

I'm pretty sure that Pong was flawless... It might not be the best game anymore, but when was the last time you saw it get infected?
Problems with wind power?

From what I have read, apparently the problems are birds flying into them and leaking oil. Therefore if they are maintained and the propellers are painted a color so the birds can see them, there is no real problem. Or have I just missed a whole big piece of the puzzle?
Well, there's also what to do about the days when there is a low amount of wind and too much. Stronger materials for the really windy days and a storage system for the low-wind days. How about putting those flexable solar panel sheets around the poles, or would that reflect too much light?

Can I use a different viewer for reality, that's not only up to standards but also blocks the popups? Or is reality still a closed format?
Eh, Homer came up with that long ago.
Not paying for TV? I guess you're still using bunny ears, huh?
Dry water? Is that sort of like dehydrated water, except you don't add water?

Come on, you can admit what the other files are. This is Slashdot, after all.

Yeah, and while you're at it, buy another tin-foil hat, just incase. @_@
Which bill, the green one or the one with the green?
Silly Italian, you should know by now that Slashdot is too hooked on the English language to adopt anything so logical as that.

Did anyone else read downward as download when they first saw it?
That's okay, because I think Satan would prefer that Hell does not freeze over.
Just what does one get if they use "M$" instead of "MS" ? If that somehow is better, why not just use "/\/\$"?
Here's a light, now go find the rest.

Those links never seem to work in Mozilla... Meh.
Then you wouldn't have a problem when the power goes out, I assume?
"video editing/ graphics workstations" Well, this is a Mac we're talking about.
Well, duh, so he could pirate music easier! And with all the fans you can overclock it so you can pirate more!
How about those DVD's with the blue lazer thingy (BlueRay or something..)? Aren't those supposed to hold a lot more?
