IMHO, Firefox is going the way of Mozilla before it. It seems like every release is worse than the one before it, to the point that it's just a bloated, slow, crash-prone mess now. I'm finding myself using IE more and more recently. The thing that made Firefox take off was the fact that it was lightweight, simple, expandable, and fast. I think they've lost sight of that.

I agree. I realized way back with my 2600 that this sort of game just isn't fun unless you're paying for it. For my current arcade cabinets, I just put all my quarters in a cup and use them for the games. If I run out of quarters, I can't play more until I get more. I've never emptied the coin buckets, some day when they're full I'll take a nice vacation with the money.

For me it's because I'm on the road a lot; if I have to spend 3 days in a hotel I bring my Wii with me. If I brought a PS2 I had a dvd player with me too, with the Wii I don't. I'd love for them to add a software patch that'd allow it to play dvds.

Personally, I would prefer that all those unpublished manuscripts remained just that: unpublished.

I don't understand why you care. I've read the trilogy and The Silmarillion. I tried some of the other books, and didn't care for them. Guess what? I stopped reading them. They can publish a thousand more, I still won't read them, and it still won't irk me in the slightest that there are more books out there.

Plus, Tolkien the elder was a notoriously slow writer. You have know idea what he'd want in regards to his unfinished works.

I'm sorry; I meant scrape up the turbine time by going to work for a small regional airline. The one in my neck of the woods takes on pilots with around 700 hours of flight time, and around 100 hours of multi-engine time. Multi-engine prop time is (probably) not the same as turbine time, and you won't need turbine (turboprop or turbojet) time to get hired at a regional airline. Hope this makes sense. Best of luck with your studies, and let me know if I can help at all.

  20. Re:Their reason for hiring someone younger might n on Is it Possible to Age Yourself Out of a Job? · · Score: 1

Getting a thousand turbine hours is not too hard. The only catch is, you have to be able to support yourself on basically minimum wage for five or six years. I'm in IT and a flight instructor/charter pilot as well (flexible IT hours.) If I was in my early twenties and a new pilot though, I'd scrape up a few hundred multi-engine hours and go work for a regional to build up the turbine time.
