  1. How about... on Anti-Missile Laser Weapon Successfully Tested · · Score: 1

That's not what is intended for. You could use the same argument about bomb detecting devices and say "How is that going to stop someone with a Samurai sword chopping people up in a local mall.

Who cares! So are almost all professional football players and just about anyone who does serious bodybuilding. Weight has almost nothing to do with health or fatness. I know there are health problems in America but saying that because 60% of people are overwieght, 60% of people are fat is just completely wrong. Just look at a bodybuilder magazine and compare their hieght with their wieght and then check the formula for determining overwight people. What you find is alot of super healthy people are infact "overwieght" but are not fat in the slightest.

  4. Who says they don't? on Microsoft Security Updates for Pirated Windows? · · Score: 1

I don't know if you are aware of this but microsoft has a list of key-codes that they give out to people who legally purchased windows, but whose key codes don't work. The list is in circulation and most "pirates" use one of the 20 key codes on this list(if they have any google searching skills at all). Effectively giving them access to the updates. This is all "second hand knowledge" of course...Of course in order to do this you first have to use the "Blue List" key code to install winndows, the use a special technique to currupt the key code value in the registry(again just google). After that you enter the activation wizard and enter in one of the key codes on the list. There you go a fully "Windows Update" friendly pirate copy of WinXP.

  5. Business...ever heard of it? on CDs May be Less Immortal than We Thought · · Score: 2, Insightful

Probably the same reason regualr appliance betteries haven't got much better in the last decade. if the stuff lasts too long why would you have to buy more or upgrade to the latest and greatest? Point being: Maybe they sell poor quality CD-Rs so that you have to backup(buy more frequently) more often.

  6. Just a thought on CDs May be Less Immortal than We Thought · · Score: 1

Back up your stuff onto high-capacity Hard Drives and put them in some little anti-static plastic baggies and keep them in the freezer. Once something more reliable and better per gig storage comes along upgrade. Or just upgrade all your media to the latest and greatset storage every ten years.
