    Yes,
but let me add some light to murder.

If you follow the civil disobedience [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Disobedience_(Thoreau)] set up by Thoreau you should only use it for what is morally right, but denied by law; so if you view killing someone morally right in a certain situation but the law says no, then you could call upon civil disobedience; in this case my answer, like the previous poster, would be "yes".

For example I view morally eating meat as a moral wrong, a form of murder; other people clearly do not - if I then had a moral that said that killing people who broke my moral code was right - I as such wouldn't mind such a law, but it wont work since too many people wont care very much for it, and continue to break it, bankrupting the law and making it pointless.

Normal human murder, especially murder committed by sane men and women who have reasoned it out, and done it for their own benefit (outside self defence) are for the normal human, moral monsters, especially if they have killed their children/parents or in general someone cute - and very much like you (a link to you strengthen the injustice and sense of a moral wrong).

Very few, hopefully none, can say that killing a person, outside of self defence, is morally right, and what is morals here? I like Kant, and Hume.
For the Kant The Categorical Imperative [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categorical_imperative] and the law of universality fits in - that is would it be ok if everyone did as me? well if it was ok for everyone to kill people for their benefit (outside self defence) or at random, we would soon be wiped of this rock! can't be good that.
Hume, and the utilitarians [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilitarianism] are consequentialists and simply believe that the overall utility is what counts, that is does this act benefit the world or not? if not then don't - in general killing someone randomly does not benefit humanity, nor the world - though you could argue that it would be self defence for Gaea, and there would be fairly good defences against that - but as always the dogmas comes in and rock the boat - and do not doubt that people in war often have moral "rights" to do so in their mind - for moral it seems is not easily pinned down.

So why did I start with a no?
For you used the word murder, murder is a word that implies an immoral killing; thus I view the killing of animals for luxury purposes murder, an immoral act to me; while I do not view someone who has no choice but to become a cannibal to survive morally wrong at all (unless he was immoral to how he got to that sassy meat). Nor are war heroes in general considered murderers at all for example see Simo Häyhä [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_H%C3%A4yh%C3%A4].

So what is murder, and what is not?
Clarification: in my mind the very word murder says that it is morally wrong; most people don't view eating non-human meat as a moral wrong, thus they will use words like killed, put-down or slaughtered; in war, again, it's killed, not murdered - murder is a moral wrong, euthanasia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euthanasia] and we do have people who kill their loved ones for mercy for various reasons today due to pain, and they view it as euthanasia, but in the law of most countries in the west it is viewed as murder - and I would hope that those who believe they have moral rights to do this dare follow the civil disobedience moral contract - and admit what they have done so that they can challenge the rules of today - for they if they do not view it as murder does not see a moral wrong with it.

So on abortion when someone say that abortion is murder, they don't mean a

You could argue that since you have a clone, and do not actually die, that it is not murder; but one should not forget that anything besides the rookie ships of EVE is worth ISK, some ships are worth alot of them to boot.

So lets tone it down and say that destroying ships in EVE is just destroying other peoples ISK, and then taking the left overs are just robbery and theft.

thats still illegal outside of EVE, but none argues that the pirates of EVE that rob people at gunpoint should be held to trial in our tangible world.

The con should be seen as just an other pvp kill, effective at that, but just as legit as it follows the rules of EVE, and any idea that loss of EVE ISK should carry in our world is banal, but if this idiocy should be enforced any other act however small should also be follow suit, quite the que that would create since thousands of ships are blown up daily.

Blowing up his ship and taking the loot is less risk, and often as much profit in the end. So many old pirates in EVE ransom people with expensive ships, the rest they will blow up hope that it transporoted goods worth more then any ransom would give (example. shuttle ransom 8000 isk? t2 bpo 3 bil isk? the later is possible, though chanses are very slim - the first might happen any time but you are missing out on the chanse on the big drop if you do ransom). As for pirates being afraid of 'fair' fights (not aimed at the parent post, but the grandpa post)- consider this they often have gank setup, hardly something to use in a 1v1 duel. More so you know what ship he flies, so fitting effective counter messures is not hard, while he can only trust you, hist last victim, to be truthful about what ship & modules you will fly. Further a pirate that lives by pirating needs to make a profit, well better or he will go broke - killing as much risk as possible is the sensible solution to this, thus avoiding 'fair' fights is norm, avoiding to carry uber gear is norm and this is while the rich pve:r don't live by pvp & can throw on fat gear etc. A good example is my old stabber setup for hunting: a pure horror for frigs besides som AFs, but is a dead bird if anything larger gets it locked down. A duel with it against a frig is not a fair fight, as thats all it is supposed to do, while a duel against a cruiser or larger is suicide on my part - and again not a fair fight.

Here comes the shock for the EVE community, the GMs caved in and restored 'order' in the anarchy of space, and the people went crazy - and the devs had talks & the anarchy that is EVE was restored once again, the scammer got his cash back and the rules was clarifed that scams is indeed valid. So what GHSC did bring in the end was advertisment, & self regulation; while people complained it would be the death of EVE the growth curve from last year to now is telling something else (I would not claim GHSC is the reason, but the friends who have started playing since have all soaked up the story & loved what it brings to the game; even if they like to play nice) Oh and people don't give away rights to corphangars anyone anymore ^^

Games like Counter Strike and online gaming is not for everyone (myself included) and those mods only give so much.

...and it all ends up pointing the same way - console games are winning and will continue to win the battle of media against the PC - even if you can mod it or not. The only games I still play on the PC are Turnbased strategy games, and they are on consoles as well (and fun, and large) - and besides there is more then enough games out there for me to play forever, without stoping, and who needs mods then? alas those that lacks the cash to buy more then one game per year (and does not crack or hack) might, but again are not the gamemakers more intrested in surviving (getting cash) then making you have a great time forever?
