    I just ran this against my WG602 running firmware 1.5.7, and the account doesn't exist.

    :) Can you also check other phone numbers? Entire phone book :). If that account does not exists, it just means that backdoor does not use that account.

    In fact, people seem to be missing what the actual problem is here. It's not that people download it (not that that's a good thing). The main problem is that people create it in the first place. That is the part that does the most harm.

    People create it, because there is demand for it. Both sides are quilty. One for creating content, other for creating demand.

    get Gecko version from about: and you will see which one is better. You might need to add or subtract some value from Netscape, because they might bundle browser with additional software.

    you can start with 35-200 Mb version and get other packages from local mirrors.

    It is possible that other distros have similar things too, but only debian talks about it on frontpage.

    I've done several debian installs. None of them used official cds. Only netinstall or boot floppies.

    By opening the case you are breaking warranty of machine that cost more that GNP of some counties.

    Laptops are not normal hardware and you may be unable to find spare parts in your computer store.

    Yes, it is nice to see laptop internals. Not sure, if it is nice to flush 2-4 grands into the toilet.

    I think, SUS need WinNT/2k/xp/2003 server. Firm that instead of Windows file server uses Samba is still stuck with windows update.

    I use free-av.com. Best virus app I've seen, and it's 100% free for personal use.

    It is not as free as programs provided in OpenCD. You need just one lesson to understand the difference between free and really free. Get used to some program and see it being discontinued or gone commercial.

    For example: Aida32 or PowerArchiver

    Debian on the servers.

    Or debian on server and same debian on desktop.

    If you work as admin, you need same environment on your station as you have on servers.

    Then your desktop can become a test station and custom package build system.

    In some languages subject contains only non english-alphanumeric characters. Your test works only in America and Western Europe. It might work for you, but it won't work for Russians, Greeks, Arabs, Hebrews, Japanese, Chinese and some other nations.

    6. I haven't run that program.

    six out of seven never admitted that they unziped that thing and started the worm. one was infected twice. had to install av in order not to clean computer one more time.

    P.S. Worms use English sentences. Victims don't use this language in their emails.

    I just bought SuSE 9.0! Is there some way to upgrade without shelling out another eighty bucks for a box set?

    SuSE releases new version every 6 months. Free FTP install is made available 1 month after CD release.

    Buy CDs if you want to support futher development. Wait one month and use FTP install if your budget is tight.

    Is that just a bug in SquirrelMail or in the mbstring support of php?

    squirrelmail does not use mbstring to read utf-8. mbstring/recode/iconv decoding is not perfect and depends on specific php modules. SquirrelMail should be able to run without those php modules.

    SquirrelMail uses own functions that convert utf-8 to html codes. developers just need time to go nuts, play with calculator and create complex cycle that works with 4 byte symbols.

    two and three bytes decoding works in most of the cases. I think only some CJK symbols and dead languages use 4 bytes.
