    Well it's available for terminal.app since 10.3

    defaults write com.apple.Terminal FocusFollowsMouse -string YES

    Shame it's not all over Aqua though.

    In my (limited) opinion I think that Sun follow roughly the same business model in the enterprise that Apple do for the consumer - and limited business desktop market.

    Develop software to sell the hardware and provide the full experience with Sun One product suite etc.

    Apparently the new terminal in Leopard will have tabs (see various Mac sites who have broke the NDA on the betas).

    Little bit of an afterthought but I guess that CLI nuts such as myself aren't the top of the priority list.

    Pretty good point. I would hazard a guess and say those flash memory supply mountains could be in reserve for the iPhone though rather than a flash based laptop.

    I'm sorry I don't know which of this post is the most inaccurate.

    And as for "playing around" with the latest Unix software then fine it's certainly not the demographic that Apple or Microsoft are aiming for.

    BTW I work as a Solaris/RedHat admin and each has their own pros and consbut I think all this chat about "well it must be wrong because I do it this way" is all too subjective..

    I think that if they allowed outside vendors to make OSX-Compatible machines it would slow down the OSX/R&D cycles with other outsiders to consider

    Maybe not a bad thing but keeping things in house will speed up time to market etc. and helps to provide "innovations".

    I think it can do. Not that I have tried it. During the install of Leopard it asks/searches for Time Machine backups and can "rollback" to that.

    The Linux kernel is about as usable as the Windows one.

    I am guessing you mean the whole GNU/Linux distribution experience. Whilst you may be right - things are improving all the time.

    Can the same thing be said of Windows ?
