    Where did you find the specs for the height of one of these drives? Stacking 200 in a 19 width puts them at about a 1/10 of an inch thick...but I can't find any actual specs anywhere.

    A conscientious objector would probably not be able to get out of things like language translation or computer maitenance, as these aren't military jobs in the first place.
    You're right, they aren't military jobs per se, but neither is laundry and cooking, but both were still draftable jobs in the military. C.O.s objected to military service period, not just combative rolls. Repairing a computer that ultimately launches a missle means just as much as the one who pulls a trigger firing a bullet.

    In the past, people have been allowed to be conscience objectors, allowing them to serve in a non-military manner during the length of their "tour of duty". I wonder if this still would apply...or if a person could claim technophobia...

    You are correct that it may not be inexpensive compaired to that 80 GB drive you bought last week at OfficeDepot for 19.99 A/R, it's still cheaper to put a couple these in an array and have 2TB then to go out and find a single 2TB drive. Inexpensive is a relative term to what you are compairing it to.

    Apparently, everything is different between the two. Maybe I'm wrong. I did this on on an OpenServer box, and since SCO owns everything...maybe they are the same.

    I forgot about freezing...so make it 3 things then. The corrosion is fron the inside out...your seals, gaskets, etc would start to corrode. You don't want steam in the line. As your brakes heat up, pressure would increase, building up more heat. Eventually your brakes would either lock up, or eventually blow out all the water in the line.

    Huh? Brake fluid isn't compressable either. You don't want compressable things when maximum pressure is required.

    Water could be used as a brake fluid if it wasn't for two things: corrosion and boiling point. The components of the brake system would quickly rust or otherwise corrode with water in the system. Also brakes get very hot and the water would boil off.

    If I have a book, all the words in in are copyrighted as a whole. Sure I can use any of the words individually. I can probably even string a few of them together to make a complete sentence. If I put enough of them together in the same order and put them in my work, then it (can) become copyright infringement. If I'm writing a critical piece, a review, or something similar, I can cite the original source in a limited manner and give credit to the original owner of the copyrighted piece. This has been practiced for some time under fair-use laws.

    Now lets say this bill gets passed and becomes the law of the land. Everytime I give out my phone number, do I have to cite MaBell? How about an list of phone numbers of computer retailers in my community? All that information is contained in the phone book. Even though I went to each and every store and wrote down their phone number, it still could be showen that it all that data was in MaBell's database and covered under her copyright. At what point does a collection of individual facts cross the line between just a collection and a database?

    Sued because of what grounds? He told the truth? Breaking a NDA that might not exist? Violating a hush order that was never made?

    Even if he did have a NDA, I bet Autozone is laughing their asses off right now at SCO (assuming that he is correct) and could care less if it was released.

    While he might have opened himself up to be apart of the case as a witness or at least a person of interest, he hasn't exactly done something wrong yet (assuming there was no NDA covering this.)

    Parts America (Checker, Schuck's, Kragen, Advanced, et al): You can't buy better and you won't pay (much) less.

    Autozone at least in my area are for people who want to pimp out their car with plastic chrome spinner wheels, gaudy spoilers, and neon kits.

    I had the exact same problem. My wallet triggered the alarm several times at Target. Finally I started looking around my wallet and found square tag inside one of the back credit card holders. A pair of tweezers later and the problem was gone.

    My university had 3 different computer related majors. CS, IS, and MIS. CS was for people who understood math, theory, and coding. IS was for people who don't understand theory, have some math, and could code. MIS was for people who had no clue about math, theory, or coding. They usually became your boss.

    Secondly, Java reads like English. Sadly, System.out.println is probably the most useful and complicated statement a beginner will learn, but look for any Java source and you can practically read, in English, what the code is doing.
    If you want English readability, go with Cobol. It was originally designed so that beancounters could program using their "language".

    Did you actually watch that episode? In case you didn't, the one guy swished around some mouthwash, he blew a .48 BAC. Note that the legal limit is .08 in most (all?) states. Now that .48 tapered down quite quickly, but it still obviously effected the results and brought in doubt as the the true accuracy of his BAC. Most likely a cop would retest after a few minutes of observation if a person belew a .48 since many wouldn't even be conscience at that level.

    Well, you were almost certainly wrong. In nautical terms, the only time a ship is "docked" is when it's in a drydock.
    In nautical terms, maybe. In traditional conversation, my friends Merriam and Webster say that "dock(ed)" is correct.

    And no where in the article did they associate speed with broadband. The only thing close was
    "Officials said the new rules, which are to be completed in the coming months, would enable utilities to offer an alternative to the cable and phone companies and provide an enormous possible benefit to rural communities that are served by the power grid but not by broadband providers."
    Both cable and phone companies offer broad band signals, signals that operate over a broad range of frequencies.

    And according to this "definition", 'broadband' can be equated to a speed.

    McD's runs SCO OpenServer at the store level. You know all those green screen displays that have what the next order is...it's OpenServer. OpenServer has a significant presence in the point of sale (yes POS...make your jokes...ok...you done now?) market place.
