I'd tend to agree, surely people don't prefer Bud by the taste, maybe they're just afraid to try something different? One of my favorite pub's (Jacks Bar, SF) has 80+ beers on tap, and if you ask the bartenders what the most popular beer is, guess what they'll say? Bud.
It's pretty well known that satelite compresses their HDTV feeds more than cable or OTA.
As for analog sucking, that's probably due to the horrible Motorola boxes that Comcast uses. It's also pretty well known that they have horrible analog tuners in them.
Range doesn't mean anything, it's something made up by marketing people. You guys know 802.11b can go 50km right now with off the shelf gear, and a couple of dishes on mountaintops? Does that mean 802.11b has a 50km range too? I can just see all the postings now after people buy.16 gear and complain that they can't connect to their home AP from the next city over.
Like the 2.4Ghz ISM band for example. Keep the power levels low enough that it doesn't turn into one big interference mess, but high enough that you can actually cover some distance with it.
Unless the interviewer also asked where they worked, or what their name was, or was going to secretly stalk everyone afterwards, what does it matter? Also, who's to say everyone wasn't lying to get a free pen?
You do know that the pattern out of a 15dbi omni is *extremely* flat. 3 degrees flat. Unless the other side is within that 3 degrees, you'll probably get the poor signal you're seeing.
It's worse than that, they charge you for the extra bandwidth, up to 20 cents per international MB.

I think you're confusing digital cable and HDTV.

And if they use MPEG4 instead of MPEG2, they should be able to get even more in there.
Very short glimpse of morph3 in action

Haven't heard about any in Alaska, but there was a 72 mile link in San Diego, which, by the way, is 115 Kilometers.

So in baseball, the American League contains Toronto, you want that renamed too?

Nevermind the fact that the shuttle probably wasn't doing 850 km/h at that point in the flight anyways.
Ah but nobody is disputing that the G5 benchmark was exaggerated, only that Apple benchmarked the Dell unfairly.
Why would radeon owners care that a nforce driver is out?
If you can extract the cramfs from the firmware, couldn't you make a change and put it back in to add more functionality to your AP?

OK, then how about R-rated movies which legally minors aren't supposed to be let into without an adult?
But it just told me someone 2,000 miles away was "close to me"
Try again, mile is not spelled "metre"

What if you just sprayed some clear coating on the dvd to protect it from air? Would that affect the laser reading it?
I'd like to go, but $250 is a bit steep for unemployed wireless geeks used to leeching bandwidth for free.

As far as 2.4ghz is concerned, brick is essentially invisible... on the other hand, wet brick is not...
