They wind up doing realtime disk based replication using a SAN over DWDM to remote (within 200km) sites.
At the remote site they split off dynamic mirrors every couple of hours or each day, then sent the differential data to disk archives.
Full backups are performed weekly or monthly.
NAS realy isn't that great for this level of replication, usualy you want block level data not file level.
BTW the largest single database isn't 25PB by itself - the entire datacenter is 25PB.
I have customers that have single databases over 20TB in size and petabytes of storage in a single datacenter, the biggest well over 25PB.
They would pay millions of dollars ever month to be able to replicate that to a disaster recovery or bunker site at realtime.

Server Error in '/FiosForHome' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
There is a much better way of doing this, with Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2005. It will be available next year thru the retail channel as a stand-alone product.
Looks like there maybe a bigger problem. About half of the 6 million tickets have only been sold so far, only 200k last week. They are hoping to sell the rest by this Friday!
www.drudgereports.com has an article about it.
there is a nice little article about an interview with Moore - he is not as he appears to be.

I was teaching a class at Apple Corp HQ, and one of my students wore a old "Hawkeye" style bathrobe to work, another one was barefoot and in shorts.
those percentages seem about the same as the general population. And since MS doesn't actually make or sell there own player I wouldn't be surprised.
How much is it to upgrade the OS to Windows XP sp2?
