Strategic zoom, multi-display support, multi-core processor support, anti-rush mechanics, various different AI strategies instead of just easy, medium, and hard difficulties. SC had a lot of innovation going on, most of it was outside of the actual game play though.
Blizzard Authenticator makes getting hacked nearly impossible. You can't transfer characters between accounts unless they're under the same battle.net account. If your guild leader kicks you for not adding them to your friends list they did you a favor. I've never seen anyone get banned for being a douche in public channels, I've seen the same people being douches for years and I know I report them daily. I've seen people get banned from the forums for such but they only got banned from the forums not the game.
Eve Online is a griefer's paradise. Sure its fun if you've got a fleeted 95% of the time, but that is hard to swing if your corp resides primarily in different time zones.
The theory is that if it is in the cloud, they handle the hardware, backup, processing, and security. All you have is a connection to your data/software.

On the plus side, you should be able to break free of its grip since it isn't made of metal.
I tried via the microsoft site to get a 64-bit CD shipped but it would not accept my 32-bit OEM license key. I called to see what the deal was and they told me I couldn't because I had an OEM license. I guess persistence is the real key.
Doesn't work with an OEM license, but the retail or whatever it is called gives you both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Vista, though you may have to request the 64-bit cd from Microsoft if it was not included.
Its about having control. If Blizzard used Steam and they needed a change to be made for their use they'd have to get the okay from Valve to make the change, then Valve would have to do it for them.
Even on those long PTR cycles with content and class changes they fiddle with the coefficients and cooldowns a lot. Class balance isn't an exact science it needs to be tested and even after the initial wave of QQ if something gets too powerful Blizzard takes months to decide on changing something. If it was whoops that 30% damage increase was implemented as 300% it'd be changed a week later (if not hotfixed the next day).
I love the Powerglove... its so bad.

They can get there faster by bunny hopping.

Stock up on liquid nitrogen and multiple hand-held fire extinguishers for inevitable fight with the blob.
That's no moon.
If you want a mature-ish WoW experience. Join a mature guild and turn off all of the public channels.

Not a diverse demographic. It isn't going to pick up what people without broadband (or computers) are watching.
Why pay for a DVR it when it is on the broadcaster's website?
