My return isn't too complicated and I would probably file via pen and paper. However, I do a number of returns for friends and family and a computer version saves time. Taxcut worked fine for me.
If turbotax removes the activation schemes Ill consider it again and use the one that costs less. If I were marketing turbotax next year I would aggressively reduce the cost of the product to try to regain some of the lost market share.
Or switch to Taxcut. I dont trust them with the web version. The only web filing I do is with the state website. (save the extra $$$ and hassle of applying for the "free state rebate")
I cant remember which football one I had (brain cell loss). I may have had both of them. I do remember playing the ones bolted into the electronics counter in the dept stores until they chased us away.
The project didnt fail entirely because of the requirements. They realized that if they outsourced the project to India, they could do it for 5,000. However, they didnt consider the relocation costs and quickly blew the budget.
Good point. I cannot wait until my son is old enough to want videogames, as I then can add the ones that I want to his Xmas list. I have tried, but since he is 12mos old; when I say the lad wants an Xbox, it doesnt convince the wife and/or relatives.
You miss my point. I am not disputing the severity of the impact, or suggesting that we ignore the threat because of low probablility. The K/T boundary event wiped out a hell of a lot more than the dinosaurs (1/2 of all marine species and 15% at the family level,25% at family level for non-marine), and I doubt very much that homo sapiens would survive a similar impact. My point being that even if we have the technology tomorrow, there is a good chance our species will be extinct for a host of other reasons if the inevitable impact is a few million years in the future.
""I think it's important to realize that eventually we *will* get pegged pretty seriously by an asteroid. The scares are one thing, but eventually the numbers are gonna catch up with us""
True, but given geologic time scales the impact may be several million years in the future. We may not be extant as a species by then, or if we are still around--hopefully have the technology to detect/avoid the calamity.
Excellent point. There is a false perception that outsourcing automatically means cost savings. I have done analyses where the cash flow impact of outsourcing is virtually identical to bringing/keeping the process in-house, and can vastly increase when you consider the inevitable "add-ons". Oh, you want to be able to access the development database?that will be an additional XXX per month per 10,000 records etc etc. Unfortunately, the perception usually wins and the decision is based on the theoretical cost savings that the outsource company is very skilled at presenting.
Of course, Ill never let you live down your 1993 vote.
However, I will be voting with you on the next election, even if in some bizzaro world twist of fate, Al Sharpton becomes the nominee. Im adopting the GRIP philosophy that is being touted in the local area. Get rid of incumbent politicians---I dont care who you are or how bad or good you are, Im voting against you when the time comes.

OH yeah, I remember that football game.
Apparently Mattell has released it again titled "Classic Football".
and really wants his 15 minutes of fame. (or infamy)
Or perhaps a cushy job with the telemarketers association when he retires?

Oh, 'stature'.. never mind
"androgynous waif boy" also works!

Throw in a bit of humor and get modded down even more.

Wasteland! Thats a game I havent heard about in a looooong time. I lost track of how many hours I played that game.
Oh, and I completely agree with you about Fallout.

If they want to take a chance and tax a warder, let them try
Ive got another avenue for insurance in this wonderful state. :)
truth = troll again. I guess the mods dont have to buy insurance in NJ (assuming you can even find a policy these days).
they can keep the mod points.
I have yet to see a mod get any joke. If they had any vestige of a sense of humor, they would use mod points more wisely. (bit of an oxymoron there)
yeah, got to have thick skin for this website if you choose to have any opinions that deviate from the media dictated "norm".
truth=troll again. One of your foes must have mod points :)
