Wow that is a suprise: American units outselling Japan Units. I applaud Nintendo of America for boosting available units. Unlike what happened with that tragic accident with the Nintendo 64.
You mean break AOL's software AMP like we used to do in the good ol' days of AOL2.0 - 3.0?
Giving up to spyware ::cough::trojans:::cough::

Given Up to Spyware?
·
· Score: 1
From experience our IT department looks down on people who accept spyware. Especially when most of spyware downloads other spyware which could download trojans. Those trojans and keyloggers can comprimise your login for NT/2000/XP. And when your system is infected with an exploit and is able to affect other systems on the network because of a slight IE6 patch for security missing. Then comprimising other systems that are behind closed doors!? I think it is time to fight fear with fear. If you gave up, think of it as giving up on the job. Do you really think you have your job/career for a long time just because you gave up and let the problem grow from a baby monster into a grandad?
I'm reading replies that say "I don't think." And they're right, they haven't thought about it. I do see 5.1+ mp3s can become the next standard. Instead of having stereo headphones, people would buy Surround headphones. Instead of Artists visioning their music within two dimensions they'll have the freedom to really hit their audiences ears spatially. Just as CD is to MP3, DVD is to...
I do see a need for Senior developers that have experience in.net. Also, most companies are looking for a consult more than just a programmer. I guess it is time to start building relationships and communication skills. There are jobs out there. Come to chicago and check out Craig's list online
What do my fellow code-dinosaurs plan to do before the asteroid hits?" A report on Newsforge (which is part of OSTG along with Slashdot) shows the flip side of the coin.
I think it is time we evolve from the reactive developing-lizards that we are into the planning, big decision thinking birds of architecture and engineering. You have to evolve yourself to stay alive in this game.
The former has been in Java since 1.3, and the later since 1.1(!).
Honestly, Java has every feature and the kitchen sink in its core APIs. And if a feature isn't there, it's very easy to write a library to add it. That's why programmers like Java so much
Wow. That sounds very familiar. And to think people wonder why there is a large fanbase for linux.
I have the feeling Microsoft Access will not be able to handle that many concurrent connections. I've seen it attempted on a 20 computer scale and fail. Why bother messing around with Access when SQL Server 2005 is available for Desktop Users for free from Microsoft?
That seems like a joke compared to other businesses that are greatly affected by evil Ivan. I guess it is a sign that god exists.
And he has shown us a sign! We must act upon it! The great hour has begun! The dark clouds shall bring us the light! Destroy thine enimies and smite thou spam. Come to free us he shall! He Shall! He Shall!
I do see RFID being used to help locate your children. However, I am also getting the image of some demented hack that decides to abuse the network kidnap someone's son or daughter and hold them for ransom. I also seeing it being able to stop incidents like this to occur, then again, money can be anyone's best friend.
Another Great Example that shows Konami needs to continue the Dance Dance Revolution Franchise for the States. I'm sure if they can found a large enough addressable market in the states will they may consider to continue DDR(in the arcades) or build more interactive games like Mocap Boxing. At least before the PIU Series takes over.
That's like Nicholas Carr saying Information Technology will become a commodity and no longer have a creative and innovative form. IMHO, it seems like they want to put fear into people so that they would buy or invest more. I would like to see what are the possible scenarios that can occur and what would be the reasons behind them.
Otherwise, it's always the same damn game. The combat engine hasn't changed since part 1.
The engine has changed from system to system. Actually from every Square/Square Enix game to Square/Enix game.
Final Fantasy 1: Command Turn based combat(Select commands for your team members first then execute)
This system had me praying that I wouldn't waste attacks on a target was destroyed.
Final Fantasy 4: Introduces an Active Battle System. Dual Spell Casting, Blue Magic is introduced. Status effects are now visible by looking at your party.
Final Fantasy 6: Active Battle System with User and Dual User input IN BATTLE! (Yes FF6 is 2 player capable) Also an impressive amount of different characters with all kinds of job classes. Learning spells through summoned creatures.
Final Fantasy 7: Introduces Active Time Battle System(there is a difference). Limit Break System. Spell combination system using Materia. Shell and Protect bars. Multiple spell casting allowed. Multiple summoning allowed. *-- Multiple meaning casting twice by the same character without losing extra mana.
Final Fantasy 10: Attack system based on speed of character. Also you get to see who's turn is next. Swapping in the middle of battle is allowed. Tactics system. Aeons: Summons that stay in battle and fight for you.
If this is the route Microsoft is taking. I may not want to upgrade to Longhorn based on the fact that Microsoft may end up doing RIAA's and MPAA's dirty work by preventing us from installing p2p networks or even worse, BitTorrent clients.
Just a major concern I have.
Why only one engineer? I could understand if there is a hiring budget or time constraint(getting the new employees up to speed). If I was in charge or necessary resources for the project i would consider hiring more than just one. No telling what may happen(the Engineer's a control freak etc...)
I know i'm looking forward to the sequal to Clerks. Yet, I seem more excited about the buzz about the Green Hornet. I believe that would be a chance for Kevin Smith to hit a larger market. Well, maybe not. Not that many people know about the Green Hornet.
Uh, yes the internet has been around since the early 70s. Yet, the internet did not become to popular until the early to mid 90s (Columbine, Kids blowing up mailboxes etc..) thus allowing children to do such things very easily.
I agree with outriding9800. The editors do go through enough stress as it is. It also makes me wonder what process they use to check to see if the article wasn't posted 3 times before. Maybe giving them a bigger window before an article's final submission would help?
the delay in final submission for articles should be moved from 10 minutes to 20 minutes.
I submit the mistakes to the editor on duty, but unfortunately, I was too late.:(
It makes me wonder what are the possible operating temperatures of this lubricant and how much of a viscosity difference we would see from the standards of today compared to this new lubricant that is added.
I feel very comfortable with Azureus. Seeing how the main window looks in BitComet. It seems to be a bit too much in one interface for me. One day I will give it a try.

I'm surprised the CIA and the military haven't thought about that.

If that is the case, my EX is AOL and I'm Microsoft.

Great, there goes my plan to leave my crazy no-good kids behind.

2010? I'll be CEO of Microsoft.
