A long, long, time ago, I moved into the campus dorms a week early to lay claim to the only network port in the room (yes, back then there was only one). Only thing is that the dining halls hadn't opened. I went out to grab a bite to eat and got my wallet pick-pocketed, leaving me without money for food for days. A few weeks later, a package arrived with my empty wallet, even with my credit cards, ID, etc... the only thing missing? Cash (of course), and the creepy part: the guy took all of the pictures of family and friends I had. Rather than making me feel hope for humanity, it showed me how creepy we can be.
In the words of the immortal Homer Simpson: "You just go in there every day, and do it really half-assed... that's the American way!"
My wife would probably say that I do this at home too (I just opened myself up for all sorts of insults there).
In California, we don't get temporary plates w/ expiration dates. It's usually just a paper plate with the dealer's logo. (We get temporary registration attached to the windshield.) They're pretty quick about getting proper plates out, but I've known people to drive around with their dealer ad/plate for many, many months.
I dunno about everyone else, but when I sent mine back for a freezing problem, it went something like this:
Day 1: Called MS, they said they'd overnight a box.
Day 2: Received box, returned it with the prepaid overnight label.
Day 3-4: MS diagnosed the problem, ended up replacing it, overnighted it back to me.
Day 5: *crossing fingers* been working perfectly ever since.
Granted, there was a weekend mixed in there to delay shipping by a day or two, but no complaints here. Just don't be an idiot who moves the console while it's on. It's not a friggin PSP;-)
At least in the US, where such an innovation will crush (or at least severely cripple) an entire industry. I'm quite sure the government won't allow that to happen, lest they lose a nice stream of moolah. (Just like we'll never be allowed to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels.)
So I read TFA from National Geogrpahic, and the comments here on Slashdot... granted, I haven't had my morning coffee yet so I my reading comprehension is broken... but how the heck did they catch this thing? I'd imagine a normal rod and reel would be ridiculous, and if they blasted it out of the water, it would've died instantly.
Sadly, it's not the acting, it's the writing. Clearly the movie has some experienced actors who've done very well in other roles... the only thing that can explain godawful scenes like the Padme/Anakin balcony scene is horrednous writing.
Problem is that you said "Midway has just announced publicly they have not interest in Xbox 360" when the article clearly states that this is not the case, they are simply not planning on having a launch title. And you criticize me for selective reading/quoting? *pot kettle black*
From the *rest* of the article:
"At no point did Zucker rule out providing support for Xbox 360 further down the line - and indeed, Midway has been largely platform-agnostic in the current generation, generally keeping the bulk of its product multi-platform."
For today's youth (partially reflected here on Slashdot), there is also a stigma attached to likeing 'mainstream', popular music. Well, this music *is* the most listened-to/purchased out there for a reason... but I sure wouldn't be caught dead with a britney spears cd. So people will find non-mainstream music because a) they like it, but also because b) they want to seem 'better than' mainstream.
Could it be that all the crappy music from that era has already been filtered away by time, so these stations only play the really good songs that have staying power?
okay, I might be exagerating a bit, but I seem to lose just as much time/efficiency as I gain simply because I lose the friggin mouse cursor across more than 1 monitor. It's especially frustrating when I have 1 window maximized on, say the left monitor, and I have to be pretty exact in clicking on the scroll bar, since the cursor keeps drifting over to the other monitor... any tools in, say XP, to create a little "speed bump" at screen edges?
Well, if you must continue to talk about French defeats, you must be talking about the First Indochina War, where the French got heir asses beat yet again: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Indochina_War
This is hardly a first... VPR Matrix supplied Porsche designed laptops to Best Buy (they still do, I think). They were pretty far from flashy, with a gray/silvery exterior and a staid black interior shell. I owned one for a few months, and it was a wonderful performer, and always caught people's eyes (without the startup sound and bright red paint).
My point is that it's awfully easy making idle threats and criticizing pefectly legitmate (non-trolling) posts while hiding behind that anonymity.
He's avoiding any sort of accountablility (though obviosuly minor and quite insignificant) and the 1 minute it takes to login while criticizing the parent's preference to do much the same.
Fucking moron. So, you would mind you and your family and friends being of a few hundreds would get killed, just so you don't have to wait in line to be searched?
Motherfucker, beware of what you wish for!

The Arcade ($199) version comes with a memory card for just that purpose.

The mob dictating morality? Welcome to the good ol US of A.
Did you mean: "Come redneck, come *save* our European asses..." ;-)

We humans need to be careful when thumbing our nose at nature... or at the very least making such extreme declarations...

This guy did: http://www.yrad.com/ It takes some real talent to put together some of his replies...
Moral compass? I'm waiting for the government to legislate what my morality should be.
Iz gon rain!
Easy... World of Duke Nukem Forever

They also want their joke back.
