Not to burst anyone's bubbles, but just looking at the fuel efficiencies of current cars, after 100 years.. is this even feasible with the oil crisis as it is?
why fix it? Well, of course, there should be new content, and there probably will be, but that doesn't mean that we have to get rid of the old stuff.
There's always a balance somewhere.. but things aren't always as mutually exclusive as people think it be..
It doesn't matter what technology comes along.. even if the DVD was perfect, I'm sure all the movie companies, all the music companies, etc would move to another media to generate outcome. Sure, the VCR Cassette tape to DVD was a big step, and I had to rebuy everything in another format..
Magus, you are right on the stop on most of these.
I haven't been a "good" gamer for a few years now, playing maybe one or two games a year (other than the random Mario Party or Mario Kart..) but Disgaea was the game that broke me out of it, and took about 160 hours away from me.
There are like 12 endings, and as if level 9999 is not enough, you can transmute your character to another class or a stronger version of your class, with better stats! In fact, many "hardcore" Disgaea players do it no less than 5 times.
It's insane. If the story isn't enough, the items are more insane. You will appreciate your level 100 Robo Suit and Yoshitsuna when you finally kill Item God 2, who is level 6000...
When my research papers are done.. I will pick up La Pucelle.. =)
of the overhype effect. Not saying it'll be a bad game, but expectations.. geez... ah well.. I'm sure it'll be fine though, I know I'll play it anyhow..
Any comparisons to former FF's yet?
That probably kills people. What sport didn't start out paying people peanuts? Baseball, basketball, football players in the 20s-50s all had to take a summer job and a second job and maybe a third job. Granted, these are different times, but shouldn't be that different in terms of a sport whose popularity isn't topped out yet...
People should do it because they like it, not because they can make money off it, and it'll ended up alright in the end.. the Pro Skateboarders aren't doing so bad anymore..
developers try to mix things up after the high-quality, but not mindblowing Tony Hawk 4
really, they were more graphical upgrades with different combos, etc, but it hasn't really changed enough, hopefully this would address it and make it exciting again..
To some extent, they have some on the GBA, with the ecard reader.. it hasn't got very popular in the States though.. (at least with peers my age, so maybe it's different for kids)
They had some old NES games, like Tennis, Donkey Kong, Balloon Fight, Joust.. (which were arcade games anyhow)
And they're pretty cheap, at ~ 5$ a pack of cards, which is a game..
Heh, don't get me wrong, I like all the Simpsons reference of Road Rage, but being a Crazy Taxi expert (80k+ scores...), the collision detection was so horrible at times it was frustrating to play..
And ya, it's true, Simpsons arcade was just Double Dragon + Simpsons, but it was done really well, instead of the past few titles, which felt very rushed out the door, preying on Simpsons fans (like me)...
Seeing how I own most of these games for PS2, I'll remain a bit skeptic on this one..
Milhouse: Well, remember when the last administration decided to invest in our nation's children? Big mistake.
Textbooks.
Many people already do this, but with photocopies.
First FFX-2, now this.. are they running of ideas? Or are they just more adversive to taking risks?
Cue I Robot..

Thank you. And people wonder why Apple's fighting Real about Harmony..
At least you're far away and stuff. It costs me the same, and I live in the middle of New York City.
Definitely off-topic, but super-scrabble came out:

Easy, all they have to do is ban CD-keys..
I'm surprised these things still happen.. a few words:
Street Figher and Figther's History.
Can someone tell me what's the difference?
If the game allows you to "turn it off", either by an item, like in FF's "Enc-none", or an option.. best of both worlds, I would think..

I hope it's Gauntlet Legends and not the age-old Gauntlet... =)
Otherwise, it looks not that bad, though I don't know if I would pay 50$ for it..

Anyone remember the following merges?
Simpsons + Crazy Taxi = Simpsons Road Rage
Simpsons + Tony Hawk = Simpsons Skateboarding
and now
Simpsons + GTA?
I don't know.. but if the other two games are of any indictation...
I just wish they remake the original Simpsons arcade game..
You mean like this?
It got to start from the government..
One can only wonder if this is a game, or propaganda...
Hrmm, what am I talking about, it's the US..
could blur the critical distinction between conventional and nuclear weapons
Because you know, it's not how many people died, it's the weapons used!
Gosh.
The conventional wisdom on duties is that money will stay within the country, and not mined and float out off the country...
