Nokia finally bought out HP. I guess if you cannot make the phone with the normal keys, you can make other consumer devices so screwed up that people think that it is OK to go on diagonal to type anything.
Sometimes I think form should still follow function. But I guess my brain was not destroyed by the rapid MTV editing.
I had the same problem with yamaha 724 card. I had to recompile the module after correcting the code. The error bit for Alsa is the same as the standard card code. Every other card I used worked perfectly, even the integrated AC97 cards (which BTW didn't work in Windows without special drivers).
You see, I just pump the water up the tower and harness the energy of the gravity to drive the water down over the wheel that pump the water back up to the tower. I also connected a power generator to the wheel. Ahh, the tricks people do to bypass the laws of thermodynamics.
In Soviet russia, you don't generate power, power generates you.
Hmm, I just connected to the windowsupdate.microsoft.com and it said I don't need any updates (I don't have autoupdate turned on). I'm running Win98SE.
Scientists at the University of Arizona's Lunar and Planetary Laboratory have performed the experiment that measures the effect of slashdotting on their server.
Whenever you visit the Microsoft webpage (windows update), they will have a video of how to install patches. This video will be only available in media player format. A few other pages on the web like this (through partnership) and it will not dent the "market share" one bit.
There might not be any benchmark that gives a "true" indication of the performance.
But all the chips generate heat. So we should rate them in terms of heat output density. A good number might be a nuclear power plant (chips are quickly approaching this number anyway).
So you could say, I'm running a Beowolf cluster of 256x Pentium "10" Nucs. Which means that you can heat up enough water to keep all of Chicago running.
From what I understood, AMD got the numbers by comparing itself to the latest Pentimum chip running at that frequency. Now, what is it going to be. AMD 128 at 100GHZ has performance 150000+ measured in units of Pentium X that has performance 50000000+ of Pentium 9 running at 1THZ.
Seriously though, the perfomance numbers are beginning to be as confusing as the speed numbers. In the end it is what you "feel" gives you a better performance. Or more scientifically, which benchmarks you choose to run to fit your expectations.
The strength of the material is controlled by defects. In a petri dish, the carbon nanotubes have no defects, but there is no way they can make a cable that is more than a few cm long without defects. This will make the strength of carbon nano-tube much smaller. In real materials, the reductions is 3 orders of magnitude. So instead of a meter wide cable, they would need a kilometer wide cable.
Ahm, did I hear somebody say air-friction. Even if you ignore the fuel needed to pump the helium in and out of the storage, they will need the power to propel the "gravy"-plane forward.
Maybe it is fuel free because they plan to use nuclear power (like the real submarines). Either that or the yoga flyers.
For a token fee, the govt gives broadcasters a protection and the means to make money. In return, it and us (since this is the govt of the people), we can ask the channels to provide public service (actually is required of the channels). So this is not a question of whether we have a right to ask broadcasters to do something. We do, since we give them the ability to broadcast.
If NBC/ABC/CBS doesn't like it, they should pay the whole fee for bandwidth (like the 3G services) plus a monthly rate.
All my asian college friends can no longer send me a suggestions on how to increase my breast/penis/bank acount. I guess there are always Carribian islands.
Copyright violation, while not criminal, does hurt other people. If your kid that cheated on SAT's, she did no harm to anyone in the same way that copying music and sharing hurts no one. She didn't go to jail, she just paid for damage; although as in case with SAT's it is not a tangible as if she just threw rocks through someone's windshield.
My 2 cents.
Ps. Not to say that music business model is great (in fact, the way they treat artists should be a crime).
Ahh, I guess slashdotters do go out for a vacation.

Just a thought.

The faq says that these vulnerabilities are not critical in Win98. Do they still exist? not clear from the text.
Still have to patch a dozen computers. Oh well, at least the server is running linux.

I think steroid use is more of an explanation for some of the "advancements" of sports.

Someone is due for a visit to randi.org
But if you find one with a pulley in the middle it may come in handy...
Go Guybrush!
I bet 500 Euro (your car is on the way) on you dying http://rcm-medicine.upr.clu.edu/publications/sidne y_kaye/toxicology-of-caffeine.htm
All the places where he said
"It appeared to have recorded all of the votes properly, but I can't be 100% certain" or apparently.
With 1,000,000 people voting, an error 1/1000 is enough to change the results of election for the whole state. We need paper ballots.
It is even scarier, because he was a poll worker and did't realize this.

Ugh, this website was strashdotted already by the time I wanted to look at it.

For the price of one, I'm sure you could get an actual porn star to perform in your room.

If a server can be slashdotted, it definetly will be.

Yes, and if she copies music she might hurt the artists.
Well, I know you'll think I'm a troll, but....
