Fact is they could do this now. use OCR on licence plates. the technology is there already. the arguements you make go against the very concept of licence plates to begin with. I understand the concerns, but these concerns aren't new, and the draconian big brotherness you mention can already take place. big bold letters and numbers on the licence plates make it easy to read from cameras. if people wanted to do what you propose they can do it now, yet for some reason, they aren't. Saying PC gaming is going to die is like saying movies are going to die out because of TV. hasn't happened yet, doubt it will ever happen. 15. Re:Non-PC games on Rockstar Announces GTA San Andreas · · Score: 1

I take the PS2 exclusive phrase to mean the exact same thing it meant back when GTA 3 was released... the platform exclusive was that it was only to be released on the PS2 console, PCs were still allowed. Sony does help fund the projects to ensure exclusivity of titles, but only in respect to the other consoles. PC games are an entirely different beast as far as they're concerned. which is why the final fantasy games are usually released on PC, etc. all of the console manufacturers have similar deals. Microsoft "helped fund" Knights of the old Republic to ensure that the x-box was the only console it was available for. and so forth... PCs are generally not included in the "platform exclusive" also note that the exclusive is generally time limited, thus after so many months they can release it on others... hence the X-box release of gta3 and vice city... I'd expect 6 months after the PS2 version of GTA S.A. a PC version will be completed. with some extras, better graphics etc...

I don't own a Mac, nor do I want to really. I have enough to spend my money on thank you. I find it funny though Mac users tend to push themselves as superior, and maybe macs are superior, their users aren't, they're equal, maybe a bit more arrogant when the next biggest worm comes out for windows. but if Apple was in Microsofts shoes, with a huge share of the marketplace, and windows was relegated to MacOS levels, roles would be reversed, the viruses would be written for MacOS, the vulnerabilities would be found more readily for MacOS, and there would be millions of Mac bashers here on Slashdot...
