Please, subscribers, when you see a dup 'from the future', please try and get the eds to cancel it. That would save some from apoplectic outrage and the rest of us (most) from a minor annoyance.
Your (complete) credit card number isn't on the receipt - just a transaction number which is used to reverse the transaction. No CC number need be exposed.
Why are credit card numbers even available on an internet facing DB? They are not required for individual transaction tracking as a separate id is generated for that. If a CC is presented at a store, it need only send the number to a server that returns only yea or nay, not any numbers. A similar means can apply for "1 click" and the like - the logon password sufficing.
There will still be some vulnerabilities, but unlikely to be wholesale breach of millions of CC numbers at a time.
If your safety protocol depends on a person maintaining intense concentration for more than about 15 minutes and ready to act instantly along with very rare periods of activity, then it is flawed and will fail.
This is equally true for airline pilots, TSA X-ray watchers, the guy who watches the pressure gauge to ensure it doesn't go above 239 PSI, and all others.
Why is walking across the street even illegal? Why are cars given priority?
From wikipedia: Originally, the legal rule was that "all persons have an equal right in the highway, and that in exercising the right each shall take due care not to injure other users of the way."[4] In time, however, streets became the province of motorized traffic....
The Chinese are probably less interested in me (as a non-entity wrt their politics) than the USA, who seem interested in fucking up as many people as possible.

Please help us! You are our only hope!
At least; I hope not.
Assuming that the US/Canadian tariff fight doesn't screw all this up.
Good for them; and a plague on both their houses!
I'll believe they're serious (and not just screwing the peons) when the military - and trucking - has to follow suit.
Too late; they're already here in the US.
How did CNN compare in bedside manner and comforting during the examination or biopsy?
"... where users rely on push notifications to know when something happens on Twitter."

It isn't illegal (jaywalking) in most places.
I wonder how long it'll be for desert area people (Calif, Ariz, eg.) to suck it all up and whine about water shortages.
At least the astronauts can now play soccer.
Gender was a linguistic category (e.g., masc, fem, neut, common) until just a few years ago when some bozos thought 'twas cooler than the word "sex".
In other words: from everyone else on the planet!

Maybe hanging out in your mom's basement in the dark is a successful long-life strategy>
Check your contract with him. It'll indicate whether or not you're owed anything.
I gotta fuckin' pay to use my money!
Why do they need funding? I've always found Thermos bottles to be of goo quality!
An interesting one they missed is generating problems to solve; aka asking the right questions.
The definitions that are acts (or behaves) as a human are just as ambiguous as AI itself. For example, would enjoying (or hating) a sauna be required?
"...and a mini-headphone jack"
I wonder if it can be moved to an iPhone.
'Obviously nobody has tried to pack a carry-on-sized solid billet of lead yet.'
Well, being rich, they would obviously be carrying gold; which is also denser than load.
East Germany has won over West Germany!
