  2. I wonder which taker he would opt for. I suspect it's six of one and half-a-dozen of the other; really screwed either way.

  3. Additionally, as real property, it would be expected that violations would be a criminal offence as well as civil. Thus, the little guy would have access to criminal charges against an infringer, as a patent grants exclusive exploitation, which the infinger has taken.

    T'would be nice to see a SWAT team taking down a big corporation, rather than someone who hasen't paid parking fines, for a change :)

    Maybe, then, scientists should just repeat their findings continuously without bringing up, or trying to directly counter, the nonsense. That is: just repeat what they understand again and again, especially on pop media.

    The rational amongst us would then just have to read the actual papers to check assumptions and ask questions to refine the results.

    Simple instructions for Slackware can be found here on Paranoid Penguin.
    Basically:

    1. Download the linux source
    2. Configure for your system
    3. Make it
    4. Copy to boot directory
    5. While retaining the ability to boot your current kernel , make the new kernel your bootloader's default.
