At least half of the deceased had nothing to do with the protest, and were simply walking between classes as they were gunned down. Go ahead and defend that.
But feeling threatened is no excuse to start picking off uninvolved, unarmed people hundreds of feet away at random. "Someone in the crowd may have a gun, so shoot them all to be safe"
I'm with you, I've had accounts with half a dozen banks over the last decade and Wells Fargo beats them all by far, in every way. I'd like to hear the grandparent elaborate on why I'm so stupid for using them, it seems it would be more stupid of me to go to a different bank with sub-standard service, excessive fees, grumpy employees and crappy online banking for no reason at all.

Didn't you get the memo, it's like super cool to hate popular things?
So would it be ok then if say, the phone company randomly disconnected phone calls to Bill's Plumbing Service because Sven's Super Plumbing Depot paid them extra for premium service? Or what if they paid the phone company for an exclusive service, and all phone calls to any plumber in the state were redirected to Sven's, would that be cool with you? How about the liberal phone CEO who drops all calls to GOP fundraising lines, and vice versa? How about a Christian phone company exec deciding to block all calls to planned parenthood, phone sex lines, and synagogues?
If this type of neutrality regulation is needed for phone companies, why is it supposedly so evil for the internet?
"Here is a novel thought. If you don't like the service, just stop playing and forking over your money. Wow what a concept."
This stupid response is barfed all over the WoW forums repeatedly every time someone has any sort of complaint. Ever think that maybe some people enjoy the game, despite objecting to some of Blizzard's decisions?
If a customer service rep from AT&T is rude to you, do you cancel your service and just live without a phone? Oh, you don't like Comcast? Well cancel your cable and live without internet or TV, what a concept!
It has nothing to do with forum moderation and making the community more friendly, it has everything to do with the Facebook cash cow. Even the article accompanying the comic you linked pointed that out, if it wasn't obvious enough.
Way to rage against the machine over a single story (which is specifically tagged "idle") that you cherrypicked from tens of thousands of other tech related articles. You should demand a refund.
Stories like this where the government throws $millions around for a simple website or database really piss me off. Maybe there's more to this system than TFA leads me to believe, but from the sounds of it this is a pretty straight forward project, a more reasonable figure would be in the low 6 figures I think (if it includes hardware and manual data entry).
This reminds me of the $18 mil us taxpayers spent on recovery.gov . I've built several bigger and better websites within a month or two with just a small 3 person team, I'm sure many people here have. Did I get $18 million for it? Are you fucking kidding me!? $18,000 would be much closer to reality. I likely won't make $18m in my entire career.
My Evo tells me before I install an app what it will be able to do, I assume it works the same for all Android phones. It's hard to get worked up over an app that can access personal data, when you were told in big red letters that this app can access personal data, and you clicked ok anyway.
I just don't get it, millions of people have been waiting for years, cash in hand, to buy Episode 3. Almost 4 years later still not a peep, no preview, no release date, no news, nothing, hell who knows if it's even in development at all?
If it comes out this year, or in 2011, will people still want it? I'm sure it will hurt them, the engine is getting old, fans are feeling alienated. Way to blow a fantastic franchise Valve.
Yeah, back in my college days we drank plenty of Everclear, we'd take shots and chase it with Boone's. It's a completely different type of drunk, like the speedball of booze, completely smashed yet energized.
You forgot to suggest some homeopathic remedies.
proof of concept. what are you so mad about?
It's not doing any harm, either, since facebook is useless. So don't be mean and let the children play...
Thanks for taking care of the obligatory "popular things suck" stance, very insightful as usual. /golfclap

$110.00 per sign seems a bit steep...

Freedom doesn't guarantee services from private entities.
I assume to thwart the "come blow in this thing for me so I can start my car" loophole...

$5 million? I'll do it for ONLY $4.5 million!

It doesn't say anything of the sort, wtf!?
Wrong.

Prior art, I do this all the time.
Thanks for letting us know (via the internet) how great your life is without television, internet, and telephone.
My question is, why is it possible to "turn off the brakes" with software at all?
