It took a while, but not being able to finish Socom II, MegaMan x7, GT A-spec got to me and I broke down, I just couldnt wait until september. Now I have a 5001 model.

The thing is, I am a big pro-sony person and love their products, but I wont buy another console system from them at launch, I will wait two years before I buy one again.

But the PS2 was my first DVD Player, and worked great as one for a long time until I got my VHS/DVD combo thingy. I just wish they would release A PS2 LCD screen like they did with the PsOne. My wife got me the PsOneLCD screen combo unit and I love it!! Long Live MegaMan X5! and FF7!

I love my wife but I would never work with her, because work is work, and in work we do things we dont want to do, and I dont want her to ever blame me for something or me blame her for something or for me to blame myself for anything.

yeah its long winded and dosent sound right, but dont hire family, work only causes relationships to crumble. I bet there is exceptions, but I bet there is a lot more divorces then exceptions

I also got some spermicidal gel and put it in the cart with the rest of the groceries. I don't give a crap, let em know. Right now while I am unemployed, I don't have any money, and in a month my unemployment runs out, and then I am up $@it creek. But what I am trying to say is, I only have one vehicle. It's a 99 F-150 with 30,000 miles on it. It runs like a dream, and fixing it if I do something stupid to it would put me in some financial dire straits.

I guess what I am saying is fear keeps me from tinkering with it. I have multiple computers, two in my apartment, and a couple in storage at my parents home. If something happened to one of the machines I could always go to another one, and if needed fixing the machines probably wouldn't cost more then 200 bucks or so depending if it was a motherboard, hard drive, or graphics card failure.

My Truck is a different story, I only have one of it, and I depend on it to get me to the interviews I need to get my next job. Simply, its to important for me to tinker with. Now if I had multiple vehicles, like say a 89 S-10 or something that I could play with and not worry about hurting it, that would be a different.

I agree with you about it being a machine and one should learn from it, but I depend to much on it and cannot afford to make mistakes on it that could cost me to fix, and could cost me to miss interviews, basically, I am scared.

I am not a big fan of laptops but they do have their place.

In the field, measurements, data collection and so forth, where sometimes power outlets and mobility and small size can be an advantage. Example, between large industrial machines, where there is no room for a desktop system and hardware, or outdoors taking measurements and tests, where there is no power.

Also, using a serial port to configure a new Cisco device is a lot easier with a laptop in a computer room then using anything else.

In apartments and dorms: Space is limited, and my wife has thankfully let me have my computer desk with my desktop, and also she has let me put my Mandrake machine under one of the end tables with a monitor on top with a mouse and keyboard. Space is pretty limited here, and having a laptop to do what we want would be nice, I would really enjoy not having the mandrake machine under the end-table or having 1/3 of my living room being taken up with my computer desk.

But, I don't have money, I do have however is two tower computers that run..........

I lost my job when a competing forging company in India was able to make a car part for only 1/3 the price of ours, and we were selling ours at cost. They met Ford's specs for quality control and Ford came to us and said "lookie at this" well there is no way we could sell for that price. So,

I am 4 months unemployed. When Ford outsourced to India, my company in a self preservation tactic hired cheap labor from over seas.

Unless you have tried to get a job within the last year, you can't fathom how many people outsource to overseas and elsewhere. I couldn't either until I got laid off. Everyone is outsourcing, and I am not exaggerating, out of 398 resumes I sent and follow ups 284 have downsized and outsourced.

Alive and well? I would ask you to reconsider that statement. Things are not alive and well, they are withering and dying. If you want proof, just come to the unemployment offices and ask for numbers of technical Americans out of work.

I hope you don't have to know the horror of this job market. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
