And we have Arlen Spector from my home state of PA to thank for that.. He has already stated,(as head of the senate juduciary committee) that he will not allow a SCJ to be installed that will take away a womans right to choose etc.. So Lil Johnny is dead in the water.. The majority of responses only consider yourselves as examples. The premise of my argument was on the average joe sixpack, who does NOT run firefox/understand not opening attachments etc etc. I would hope anyone with a UID on/. would be able to avoid such pitfalls. I also run XP at work and home on and yes, I have managed to never have gotten an infection of this type, HOWEVER, I have more people than I care to count asking for help cause thier little bobby fucked thier internet experience up by installing gator/VX2/New.net etc.

I happen to think that my time is kinda valuable and if by using a mac I can surf the web and not have to spend lots of my time cleaning off spyware etc every week/month then I say, its absolutely fucking 'superior'
Is a Mac 'superior' at sending/recieving email? No.
Same arguement can also be made here..oh wait, when was my Mac infected with an email borne virus.....oh thats right, it hasn't So again, the lack of downtime, is a huge plus, thereby gaining my approval of the 'superior' tag..

Exactly.. like not using it to cause a riot or cause injury etc;however, none of these things is caused by howard on the air in the scope of his show. There is none for him to accept, primarily because everyone knows when he is on and what the show is about! Jesus fucking christ! No one with multiple brain cells will turn on Howard when they are looking for world news and those looking for his type of material know not to tune into FOX/CNN/BBC etc etc. Its really that easy..they even have remote controls for radios these days so those fat,midwestern, "sensitive" house fraus can change the station without disturbing the bedsores..
And as for the marketplace being orderly, I think that 8-12 million people deciding they WANT to listen to and support the show is quite enough order, because if he was really that bad, then he wouldn't have the listeners or more importantly the sponsors that the show needs to survive financially.
I love Howard, but unfortunately for him, his show is on the way downhill.. And by the time he actually gets to Sirius, they are going to be so far behind against XM subscriber-wise that he will probably end up bankrupting the company. O&A do his show better than he does and are just funnier..and will have a 15 month head start..Not to mention XM getting MLB (which unlike the NFL, actually makes sense to aquire for RADIO)
Lucky for Apple and manufacturers of quite a few other music devices that you and the 4 others using OGG aren;t the only ones looking for this type of device.. Seriously, I know a lot of people playing music on thier pcs/portable devices and not a one uses OGG, whats out there is more than adequate for what 99.997 percent of the market.
As if the wait wasn't long enough..I for one love standing in line or sitting in the oh so tastefully decorated DMV offices.. I wonder if they put this out there to explain a particularly brutal episode of Gov't incompetence.. But they did mention windows, didn't they..hmm
Well of course competition is good for the consumer, and I am all for it; however there has got to be some structure/rules in place that allow a company to maintain some type of return on thier investment. Otherwise, whats the point of starting a business? There is only so much altruism in the world..
And while I am a fan of apple products, I would move on quickly for a better product. I could steal every song I wanted however I choose to support those artists/companies/"insert entity here", that I like, and would prefer to remain in existence..
But *why* would Apple even want to license Real? What benefit would they get from that? Seems that Apple likes having people use iTunes to buy music for thier iPod, rather than have that portion of revenue siphoned off by Real. So I am sure Robbie would just be giddy cross-licensing, it does Apple little good. Everyone I know with an iPod already has non-Apple songs on thier iPod, so they didn't "simply create software that would allow non-Apple music on an iPod", they created software that would allow *thier* music service files to play on an iPod. Subsequently cutting into Apple's iTunes with no compensation other than a nicely put "up yours"

I don't know what market you live in, however I am in Philadelphia and if an ATT signal is unavailable my phone will automatically switch the the Cingular network. I would imagine the reverse is also true. Of course, the issue could be the phone you use, it may have lousy RF to begin with...
I believe one of the FCC employees stated in print that they "could not fine Oprah, because she is so beloved, whereas Howard Stern is a lightning rod" or something very much to that effect. Kind of scary if you ask me...
Ummm right and wrong..Your technically correct, Mike Powell did not fire Stern, however I find it a bit peculiar that as soon as Stern started hammering the current administration(Bush et al), Clear Channel, who had carried Stern for >10 Years of the same level of material, all of the sudden drops him? (Not to mention reneging on the contract between the two parties) Also, its quite the coincidence that the CEO of CC just happens to be a golfing buddy and long time friend of the current POTUS. And also, in Firing Stern, CC adamantly claimed a zero tolerance policy on all thier stations, however there have been multiple cases of "indecency" among other CC broadcasters with no response by CC.

I think we can all agree on that..however, it seems to me that quite a few people are indeed winning or at least breaking even, judging from the amount of money being spent on arguably frivolous items (ie >50K cars, >500K houses etc...) If thats losing, sign me up!

How huge is the market for this type of device? I mean seriously.. How many entities were clamoring for this..and how many could they possibly utilize?
It was my understanding that the best method of persuasion was threat of imminent catastrophic personal injury or loss, usually given in a calm tone of voice in order to show that its serious. Don't feel like talking? a.45 works nicely too...

I don't recall the first ammendment stating anything about YOU not being able to censor or try to censor whatever is in your particular sphere of influence. YOU "getting in someone's face"is not nearly as frightening as Gov't agents appearing and taking you away because you said something in bad taste.
Absolutely! The 9th circuit is indeed a disgrace. I mean when did Judicial legislation/judicial activism become ok. Judges are supposed to deal out the law as it stands, not create new ones with thier "interpretations" of it. Oh well, we know to expect another asinine decision will be forthcoming...
