    Right on brother! M$ is banded from my household. Using Linux, I simply laugh at the daily Window viruses. And AOL...who needs that overpriced, obsolete, dialup thing. Actually, I'm still pissed at AOL for turning me down as a beta tester back around 1991.

    As a somewhat related topic, I would to see a study on how fast and widespread shared emails spread around the internet such as jokes or cartoons. This could be quite useful in tracking emails with a political message. It seems that tracking emails shouldn't be too difficult to do because so many people leave the topics and email chain intact in their forwarded emails.

    I work for a fortune 500 company and occasionally participate in on-campus interviews. It's my opinion that Unix/Linux proficient students usually have a much broader understanding of basic computing/networking concepts. Many of these students I meet actually honed their skills by running music & video file sharing servers and they took the initiative to learn these skills on their own. This is the type of student I recommend for hire.

    When I was just out of High School, I worked on a oilfield crew that disassembled drilling rigs, moved them and reassembled them. The work was so dangerous that nearly everyone who had been there for very long had a finger, toe or eye missing. Another crappy job was stacking cow hides in a boxcar in freezing cold winter weather. The hides were covered in cowshit and salt and were soaking wet. I made $1.50/hr.
