Remember DVD Jon? As soon as someone tries to force DRM on us, it will be cracked/hacked/circumvented within a month. If not, screw it, I dont buy their crappy pop crap anyway. If DRM prevents us from accessing the internet, screw the internet. We will share data via lan parties, which will eventually become a constant global lan party.
The first time I used a computer was in the 1st grade. Within a week, I had thrown a handful of magnets into the box of floppys with all our homework on them, crashed several boxen, and added a recording that said "F@*k Mrs. Teacher" to the startup folder of one.
Why not have gormet coffee packaged in a tea-bag, or similar instrument, along with the mug of fresh mountain spring water. Press the button, wait 3 minutes, and brew your java. Bam. Millionaire.
I can't believe that our society has become so uptight that they're trying to lable porn as an addiction. I'm so sick of people trying to push their morality into government, and claim it's all for the sake of the children. Whatever happened to REAL freedom? Did it die one morning in September? Or did someone just give the "Big Pendulum" a good strong push?
Hmmm, what a good idea! Lets track everybody with a UPC code! Imagine how much more efficiently we could have killed several million people during WWII if we had a quick-scan barcode instead of a tatoo number. Listen people, we need to STOP trusting govornment/corporate entities with our information, cash, lives etc. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Yea, and not only that but it was engineered by the govornment as an attempt to limit the population so we dont consume all of the planets resources......
Anyone rememberVertigo? It was one of those pay-to-ride deals that had you strapped into a harness on a bracked with 5 other people, and then by the use of steel wire and 3 towers, shot to the top, flipped around, and brought back down. Problem is one of the towers FELL OVER during the first winter it was up. I think it was ultimatly attributed to removing the bracket for the winter (the towers were designed to be under constant tension).
This seems to have a future not only in gaming. Imagine an application or piece of hardware that allows users to connect wirelessly to each other for free provided that they operate as a repeater. This is similar to the wired internet, only there are no cables to run, phone bills, bandwidth fees etc. As wireless range and speed increases, and cost decreases, I believe this is simply a natural evolution of the internet and a rebirth of the laissez faire information exchange that once existed in cyberspace.
I disagree. Legitimate live recordings that are taken directly from the mixer feed can be high quality, and truly shine with bands that use improvisation and acoustic or wind instruments. What comes to mind is Jethro Tull's "Living in the Past". I bought this not knowing it was a live recording, and was plesently suprised. It's higher quality than some of the studio recordings I own. Bootleg recordings, however, tend to be from the crowd and of horrible quality as the parent noted.
If it was just for practice, why put any uranium in it at all? Or for that matter, why put conventional explosives in it? Sounds like "Ye olde cover up" to me.
RFID is IMO not inherently "evil". It is a tool, like a screwdriver. Now, a screwdriver can be used to turn screws, or it can be plunged into someone's head. RFID is fine with me, as long as:
1. I know it's being used
2. I'm not required to use it
3. I can turn it off

I personally recommend installing and configuring a Gentoo box. I knew squat about linux, until I did this, and since then I have been using it exclusively. Gentoo is nice, because Portage, it's package management system, takes care of dependencies for you and allows one to concentrate on what the different packages do, how to configure them, and how they interact. Gentoo is extremely well documented, stable, and allows for complete customization. Since it can be installed from scratch, one package at a time, it also will give you a good understanding of how linux operates.
Once again, things like this dont bother on an individual basis. They do, however, point to a growing trend toward security in exchange for freedom. "It's just a box that records your speed. It's just one camera. It's just a quick pat-down. It's just a simple urine test. If you're not breaking the law, then you dont have to worry." A single pebble will not harm you. But millions and millions of single pebbles will crush you like an ant.
Ok, here is the problem I see with this. Our society is based on a system of dominance and control. If you're in control, you can do what you want. If not, you're trusting various aspects of your life to whoever is in control. As government-corporate entities continually erode our personal freedoms, and weasle their way into our lives, they gain more and more control. Now, the purpose of a government-corporation is to make money. This means selling a good or service for less than the cost of providing said good or service. Capitalism by it's very nature is a scam. By sitting idly by as things like this take place, we are slowly giving more and more control to govornment-corporate entities.
Without laws, actions, or boycotts to keep them in check, our economy will slowly degrade untill we end up in the same situation as so many other failed states; a 2 class system that tramples the rights of the masses. Maybe I'm a little off topic here, but I think these little "your rights" deals all kind of tie together to paint a bigger picture. Dont be a suka.
This is great. Imagine a house full of items made from this material. Cups, pens, paper pads, tools etc. Just stick them to a table, wall, or door, and they stay put.

Those iceholes in Alaska have WMD's, time to invade (and steal their oil).
We can develop brain tumors 4 times faster than with a standard cell phone.

I already knew they were going to do that......
Often, the major media outlets of a city are owned by one or two large corporations, with interlocking ownership.
Whome also contribute millions to the political campaigns of BOTH "major" parties. Really, we should just have a robot president.

Some games listed as related to health research:
Psychological Interaction Alter Ego (Activision by Dr. Peter Favaro) Two versions Female and Male were released. Mind Mirror (EA by Timothy Leary)
The new version is a PC game, the old classic I know and love comes on a little square of paper....
