Yup, pretty much this.
I have two 128G SSDs striped for my OS and applications.
I have two 1TB drives stripped for all my data.

System boots up quick. Computer operates with speed. Liking it so far.
Let's put aside any blame, mistakes, whether the media is being unfair...for just a moment.
Seeing that bag just drift off, only a few feet away from the station and then a few days later we see it pass by in orbit from Earth is just amazing. I'm always impressed with whatever we do in space.
Was it my tax dollars that paid for that lost bag? Still worth the money.
Sites affected include Technorati, Netflix (these display nice "We're Dead" pages), Typepad, LiveJournal, Sun.com, and Craigslist (these just time out).
The double-headed approach makes sense for several reasons. DJs and audiophiles will always want the top end of quality, so they will buy physical media, but for convenience you can't beat a digital file.
Yes, it's an analog record playing a digital song. I don't think it's as the highest quality from playing a true record that has the real song imprinted in it.
At Ironport, they offer us Macs or PCs.
Since we're primarily a FreeBSD shop, most of the techs use Macs as having a local shell is really helpful.
Most of the managers use PCs for their "e-paperwork" and such.
There's more techs than managers, so I can assume Macs are dominant here.
2. Turning a machine on and off many times can be harmful, so it is said. Others say it's a myth. I don't know who to believe, but it seems feasible that this could be so.
The harm can come from disk fatigue. The heat of your computer expands every component in your system while turning it off (cooling down) contracts everything.
Your disks are probably your most valuable asset as well as the most sensitive in your system. If you do backups, you most likely do them late at night when you're not using your system.
Even so, leaving your system on keeps all your components from constantly expanding/contracting till one day *pop!*, something expands and breaks.
I also run my own mail server, so that can never be shut down.
Look how much has come out with the Republicans in charge: everything from the plan to divide up northern Iraq amongst oil companies to the CIA's torture program.
According to Hillary Clinton, some torture is okay, despite her previous opposition.
She's trolling for votes.
I've recently come to understand that Democrats are just as bad as Republicans.
I'm actually thinking of voting third parties this coming election. I don't care if I'm "throwing my vote away", I'm making a statement with my votes.
Both parties are responsible for the mess we're in.

For me...it was the journey of getting to lvl 60. I liked exploring the world, searching new dungeons, grouping with a few people and attempting something new together.
It was just this past weekend that I finally reached lvl 60 with my mage after almost 2 years of playing (I have 4 other characters I was playing around with.) When I annouced my "Ding! lvl 60" on my guild chat, one of my other lvl 60 guildies says "Congrats, welcome to the 2nd half of the game".
But you know what? Seeing as the 2nd half of the game is strictly raiding, I'd rather go back to the 1st half of the game.

This email contains important information that requires your immediate attention. Please do not reply to this e-mail; instead please use the telephone number provided below if you wish to contact us.
You previously placed an order with AT&T for DSL-related equipment through the http://www.sbcdslstore.com/ Website, at which time you provided certain information including your name, address, e-mail address, phone number, credit card number and credit card expiration. (This information did not include your Social Security Number, Driver's License Number, date of birth, or other identifying information.) AT&T has learned that a computer containing the information you provided has been accessed by an unauthorized person, who may have obtained this information about you.
In addition, AT&T also believes that some customers who purchased DSL-related equipment from us through this same website may be receiving e-mails that appear to be from AT&T, but actually are being generated by an unauthorized third-party (a practice known as "phishing"). These e-mails refer to your prior order with AT&T and request that you provide additional personal information such as your Social Security Number, date of birth, or another credit card number and expiration date. Please be advised that these e-mails are not being sent by AT&T and are not legitimate. Do not respond to these e-mails or otherwise provide any of your personal information in response or at any Website to which the e-mail may refer you. We sincerely regret that a third party was able to gain improper access to your order information and we are working diligently with law enforcement and major credit card companies to limit your potential exposure. Although your 3-digit credit card verification number (from the back of your card) was not stored, and therefore not accessed, we strongly suggest that you contact your credit card company directly to report this suspected incident and to protect the credit card you used to purchase this equipment from any unauthorized activity.
In addition, we suggest that you contact the fraud departments of any one of the three major credit-reporting agencies and let them know you may be a potential victim of identity theft. That agency will notify the other two. Through that process, a "fraud alert" will automatically be placed in each of your three credit reports to notify creditors not to issue new credit in your name without gaining your permission. For your convenience, we have included contact information for all three credit reporting agencies:
Equifax P.O. Box 740241 Atlanta GA 30374 To report fraud: 1-888-766-0008 Website: http://www.equifax.com/
TransUnion Post Office Box 6790 Fullerton, CA 92834 To Report Fraud: 1-800-680-7289 Website: http://www.transunion.com/
Lastly, to provide further security, AT&T is arranging to provide you the option of enrolling for one year, at no cost to you, in a credit monitoring service specifically designed to notify you of changes to your credit report activity in order to detect fraudulent bank or credit card use. The service will be provided by one of the major credit reporting agencies. We will provide specific information on this option as part of a letter you will receive via U.S. Mail in the next few days.
Again, we regret this unauthorized and unlawful access to your order information and are working with law enforcement to pursue those who are responsible. We are also reviewing applicable security procedures in an effort to prevent an incident like this from recurring. Should yo

What we have is an intelligent person who ignored every single bit of advice from a multitude of sources in favor of outright greed.
Your use of the word 'intelligent' is debatable.
I'd say after the way Epic consolized UT3, I can't imagine wanting to play this on the PC.
It makes me sad.

Unless the technology existed at the time, I suspect Caveman A throwing a rock at Caveman B came first.
I don't know about the article, but my "Golden Age of Gaming" was roughly 15 years ago with my Atari 2600 and Nintendo.
I love my current gaming just as much, but the days of playing the original Final Fantasy till 4am is still fresh in my mind.
Golden Age is subjective.
The sad part is that I dropped AT&T (it was SBC at the time) as my DSL provider and switched to Speakeasy several months ago.
Althought, switching to Speakeasy was the happy part.
