  1. Re:looks old fasioned..is there a b/w version?? on Dark Horizons: Lore Available for Linux · · Score: 1

Well, I downloaded it and tried it (the Mac version), and I was anything but impressed. Never mind graphics or gameplay, but the performance was horrible (especially considering the aforementioned graphics). Brand new Powerbook, and it played like ass. To top it off, the sound code is damn buggy (very choppy during loading, and laggy/buggy in-game). Oh, and don't forget that it takes FOREVER to load.

Doesn't play well on new hardware, has bugs that I spotted in the first few minutes of playing it, has mediocre graphics. I admire that they're making an independent game on 3 platforms, but it's just not very good.

I'm sure the headline makes sense to some people, but not many people are going to understand FOI or GIS. I can't be the only person who thought this was about Google image search data and images at first glance.

It's just kind of ridiculous when a native English speaker can't make sense of the headline. Please, at least explain these things in the submission.

Another thing about the show is how freaking boring it is. I like chess, but that doesn't mean I'd ever want to watch a terribly overdramatized anime about it.

Hikaru no Go drinking game: 1 drink for each of the following:

-someone bursts into tears after a game of Go
-ominous music and foreshadowing to announce an evil board game player
-lame flashback to another Go game
-Hikaru showing his angry/stunned face in response to some AMAZING MOVE or one of the aforementioned evil players (this seems to come up much more than the rest)

Interesting, what pages are you talking about in particular? I just fired it up and checked out a few sites (of course the all-important slashdot.jp), and I don't see any problems. Are you unable to fix this even by changing the text encoding? Only thing I noticed is that a few words in Japanese seem a bit blurry, but I don't know if that's a Japanese-specific bug or not.

People said the exact same things about the immigrants who came here years ago, and those are the same people who you consider to be AMERICANS (the capitals show emphasis, obviously). And if you've never had to try to learn a completely different language through immersion (at an age where you're while past being able to learn through immersion!), don't criticize others for not doing it.
