    If I recall correctly, Clinton disabled the lower-accuracy for non-military. Possibly because civilian devices were being used by troops.

    Also the US is currently deploying satellites for it's own next generation GPS system with higher accuracy than anything out there.

    I've had pretty much all of those things happen with AMZL delivery. I have my street number posted in FOUR places around my corner lot and they still manage to screw things up regularly. I don't have much faith in Amazon competing with existing carriers. Not with the caliber of their current drivers.

    Exactly right. Based on numbers provided by Steam, DirectX10 is currently the majority of what players hardware supports. So guess what developers are targetting? Sure some AAA studios are going all out but a lot of the smaller developers are still putting out DirectX9 games.

    I started on a TRS-80. But I too give thanks to my real beginnings to QBASIC. Instead of my dad, it was my older brother that introduced me to it. He eventually gave up programming and became an outdoors man. I on the other hand have been coding for the past 20'ish years :)

    I'm wondering if this will shutdown the sale of used games on ebay and the like. That would be shame if so. Pretty much every game and console I buy eventually gets resold (they are mine so I ought to be able to sell them) to someone who will get use out of them after I've had my fill.

    The upgrade dragon isn't as bad as it used to be. A lot of gaming tech has plateaued in the past few years.
    Buy/build any decent PC these days and you're good to go for some years.

    They simply merged it. There is no longer a DirectX SDK to go along with a Windows SDK. It's all just Windows SDK.

    That said, the market hasn't even caught up with DirectX11 yet.

    This is interesting from a developer standpoint as well. This means we are wasting processing time rendering frames and are only displayed for a handful of milliseconds. These frames could be dropped entirely and that processing time could go to use elsewhere.

    Thanks for posting that. I've been looking for a replacement to my HTC G2 but have yet to find a T-Mobile phone with an acceptable keyboard. I don't know why phone manufactures mess with the standard keyboard layout so much. Trying to code on the G2 (even just HTML) is a nightmare (it doesn't even have ..yet they include a www. key???).
    The Relay's keyboard looks great. I think it's the only T-Mobile phone to have 5 rows since the long dead HTC G1.

    My only concern with the Relay is that it's made by Samsung. It seems like all I ever see in Play Store reviews is how various apps crash on Samsung devices. I can't say I'm too confident in the brand.
