Wimax is perfect for rural areas and a smaller telco can much easier make deal with various suppliers for test cases. Intel would be a perfect choice since they are already spending billions on Wimax.
If the parents gets to decide with no further input then half the kids in Kansas will be doomed to flipping hamburgers and praising the lord for the rest of their lives.
One reason why we all hate them is that despite having zillions of dollars in cash they try to do market research on the cheap by asking unsuspecting slashdot'ers.
To make sure the shop doesn't cheat you in the long run, you absolutely need to take the extra money when a mistake is made. (Assuming equal propensity for making mistakes)
Second.
Most supermarkets and high volume shops have an appalling record on price shown on sales items and what is used when the items are scanned. For supermarkets like Tom Thumb it is like 1 in 5 there is a problem with. They use to have a system so the would double the value of any errors but the stopped this as it became too expensive. Kid you not.
Before this nonsense in Iraq is over we could alternatively have bought a laptop to every single person on the globe. Assume 5 million kids enters school per year in the US. At $100/ laptop we could give each a computer for what the what the war cost PER DAY
You can not be sued for libel for something you file in court. If you look at Groklaw and some of the stuff SCO filed earlier, they tried to use this as much as they could for their FUD campaign.
Gates have been courting India for quite a while. This move is a political move nothing to do with the merits of the program.
I really don't care about India but would love to see Bangladesh adopt the OLPC program. They have thanks to Yusun and his Microloan program almost eradicated poverty so they seem to be a more innovative people. Remember 10- 15 years ago you almost always heardf about the plight of Bangladesh? Heard anything lately? I rest my case
Yes obviously this is mind reading and not some subtle body language that the dog picks up. Why adhere to the principle of Occams razor? It takes all the fun out of making shit up. .
Well the center of the Renaissance in many ways moved to Rome from Florence following the Medici's expulsion from latter and the havoc created by the French king Charles VIII.
Not to mention the Northen Renaissance so it is not really a good argument. Rather an argument that creative centers can be recreated and do indeed move
Now try the same argument on speed of the processors and you will find that the market should by and large never use any higher end CPU's.
The speed increase from a low end to high end is rarely more than 30% but the price is often 2-3X higher.
By the way combining a high end CPU with a low end Diskdrive is pretty much maximum folly but this is the way they are configured. Resason: People do not know anything about the disks but "know" they "need" the faster Intel chip to make TehIntanet go faster
Think about it next time someone argues for the need to increase the military budget.
Keeping America strong actually makes war more likely as we have seen plus doesn't really make anyone safer incl ourselves
As dumb as it sound but something like this has actually happened. Michelin the French tire company realized that they would sell more tires if people drove more. So what did they do? They made a tour guide called Guide Michelin.
It had information that the driver needed but its reason d'etre (pretentious moi!) was the longer scenic routes that were offered as an alternative.
While we are at it the early US car companies financed roads as well.
I know. I thought it was pretty funny notably since the Itanium has done so poorly and the parent posting was so self righteous. In many ways I think/. is getting worse on the insights of its posted comments but the entertainment value of some of the comments is still unsurpassed.
'Basically, no one ever used hardware-based IA-32 execution, so better to use the silicon for something else,' said Illuminata analyst Gordon Haff. 'Of course, basically no one uses software-based emulation either, but at least that doesn't cost chip real estate.'"
Why not extend that logic? No one really used the Itanium chip anyway so why not use the silicon to make Yohan's for Apple?

The article forgets to mention that Gena is mildly retarded and has acquired little knowledge of the outside world

Have a look at OriginalSignal same system but Ajaxified as you can just hover over a story to read a summary.
nor get arithmetic right without a spellchecker

May I suggest you as a minimum post you comment over at Groklaw. We know for a fact that the lawyers at IBM reads that.
Turion x2 based HP machines DV2000z. They will be out in 2 weeks or so. Killer design made by Nisha in Japan. Here is the Intel verison
Right now Intel is mainly pissing against the wind or on an electric fence.
Not to mention the Northen Renaissance so it is not really a good argument. Rather an argument that creative centers can be recreated and do indeed move
As a counter read todays NYT story about 25% of Iraq's Middle Class has left or is leaving. When the middle class leaves it is game over.
"Microsoft still wants to get it out as soon as possible
Amazing insight. Worth every penny spend on the report

It is a wonderful search engine. It is based on Google for normal search but you can add extra panels and having it use diffferent vehichles.
Doing a Wikipedia search concurrently with a general search is in my oppinion the best of both worlds.
They already are. There is a good write-up about some of the problems they are facing in this weeks Economist Self Doomed to failure
