Oh man, the practical joke applications of this are enourmous. Pity it looks like it'd take a while to apply a full coat. Needs to be readable available in a spraycan. The 'insta latex clothes' could be fun too...
Get an device with G1 installed, use something like Filez to get the Graffeti.prc and pdbs out, load into new device. I used my Tungsten, and got my Treo600 using G1, not encountered any problems with it. (search for better instructions than my wafflings).
Funny you say that, in the US now, they've just started advertising the new Snickers bar, with more carbs or something for those who like to work out. It's called; Marathon Bar
OMG! All the rants against this, it's a HUGE step forward. Really, come one, we're going to have a technology that allows HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of video feeds, with the ability to easily search for streams playing (using RSS), with the ability to handle popular feeds to scale up (albeit, we'll see how it works, but I think it'll happen). We've all moaned about the lack of quality on TV, and although it'll start poor quality, it'll get better! This is a Tivo for us all!
Thing about soldering, I just KNOW that the joint is bad if I've not scarred myself. At some point during the process, I have to touch skin to hot bit to make my pain sacrifice to the gods of solder. Once this suffering is endured, I know that it'll work. If no pain, no joint, and I'll have to redo it until I'm scarred from the experience.
And the UK is expected to get colder in the short term due to GlobalWarming. Thing is, the keyword there is GLOBAL. With something as complex as the weather, there'll be wierd things happening all over. Hotter hot, colder cold, this is showing the scales are starting to wobble. IANAS, but doesn't less energy mean that the Earth will cool down? Read the paragraph, it was Less energy out not less energy. Means less energy is being bounced back out and being absorbed/radiated where we don't want it. Think Global, act Local
I travel alot, an awful lot. Land sea and air.
Had a reasonable case that started to tear with the monstrous Dell inspiron I used to lug. The way the bag was designed, it most likely would of been fine another few more trips but I thought I'd not risk it. Got a cheap and cheerfull case and I was cursing it, not enough room for everything, didn't seem sturdy enough, and I just couldn't get it comfortable to wear. Eventually found; http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=C DB1 and its wonderfull. Looks awfully plain, but it's got silly amounts of pockets all over it, protects well, and best of all, comfortable. It isn't cheap, but think about how much the laptop you're going to be carrying around costs, small insurance to have a good case.
But how could you get first post after death? THAT would be worth getting your offspring into debt for.

Robots clean the floors of what little dust there'll be, not that there'll be that much. Most of the dust in the home is from skin cells that drop off, and most people are walking around in full battle gear for what appears to be no other reason that to keep the dust down. Gloves on at all times to prevent grimey marks on the smooth metal walls. All helps to keep the cleaning bill down, not much other reason to be wandering around the place all the time in full battle gear.
Does it have Palm written on it. Had an original palm pilot when they first came out and lived my life on it. Incredibly usefull. Eventually, my cell phone started to be usefull, to the point where I didn't like entering info twice, and at that point, the palm pilot was left for the cell phone which was ok, but not perfect. Recently, got a Treo 600. This is almost the perfection of form. Did everything I wanted, phone and pda. Few problems I had with it appear to be solved by the new version coming out soon (after being used to a Tungsten for a bit, the screen res on the Treo was a little poor). So, pda good, ability to load the odd fun application is cool. Being able to use Google from wherever I am, incredible.
So, if the universe has a limit, and the Mind isn't infinite, and we're all constrained by the entropy of the ever so slowly expanding universe, I have just one question.
Not only e-mail, seeing as all snail mail for an address ends up in the same place, easy to do for mailing lists. Signed up with for AntiVirus software with the name Edward Bola. Didn't take long to get the spam mail addressed to EBola, and could track where it had come from...
Looked at their version of a football game, checked out the competing codec's version of same content, and funnily enough, the VP6 version looked better. I want to be able to test this myself, but without having the original content, this isn't going to happen. To be honest, they all looked a bit awful. With a meg for 10 seconds of video, how did they manage to get the other codecs to look so bad!? Meaningless test.
You make some intersting points, and have backed them up with some legislation, but so what? The airlines have the right to say, "Sorry, you're not coming on OUR plane, you're wearing jeans". What are you going to do? It's their plane. They'll refund your ticket, apologies profusely, but you do not have the right to use them for travel. You're just another customer who has been refused service. Sorry, but that's how it is I would think. Doesn't matter what rights you have in your home, you give up those rights by your choice, if you wish to fly.
I think the interesting part of the original quote was; "especially when someone notices you can easily get a longer sentence for helping grandma read than kicking her down the stairs" That's the point I find amazing. Someone defeating the copy protection mechanisms would most likely get into more trouble than someone causing bodily harm. Come on, we know how this stuff works, I don't think it IS an exaggeration.
Oh come on. would this really be a surprise to ANYONE? if you was in charge of a Linux software co., wouldn't you wake up each morning wishing you could get the big manufacturers to pre-install Linux instead of Windows?
Firstly, don't think your going to be able to put RedHat bootdisks in and fire it up.
MS will have pretty good security here to stop this working (I know, Dreamcast's protection got hacked eventually, but we need a simpler way of doing this).
What I suggest is the Trojan way in. We need to get a boot disc that has the capability of loading something like VMware/Bochs, and is certified by MS (The tricky bit). Once that is done, we're in. We use that as a bootloader, swap discs, and carry on as usual.
Not the perfect solution, but it's a start to get a development system onto the machine.
And it would show Linux running on a XBox onto a TV, this fact alone would be an achievement, no?
So, who's up for a bit of social engineering into talking someone at MS to let us use a CDR with emulating boot code?
As an aside, does anyone know if the XBox is region locked? I'm visiting the US tomorrow and would like to know if it's worth me bring a machine back to the UK. Ta!
Might make it hard to play the FPS's online when you've not got the dex to keep WASD covered at all times!

Err, there's already one out there in Oklahoma, called, funnily enough;
SpacePort, Oklahoma.
Google it up, there's alot of good info about it, and makes a pretty good site too. Just enough out the way.

Also, from the NT3.51 reskit, a little util called;
vdesk.exe
Not officially supported for a LONG time, but I'd be lost without it.
